Plus Size Outfit Ideas – Stripes and Skirts

Some new plus size outfit ideas!  They are all variations on a theme- stripes and skirts.  I love mixing stripes and prints!  And I love bright colors for spring.  Oh and I love skirts when it’s hot outside.  So yeah, I love these looks!  😉Plus Size Outfit Ideas - Plus Size Stripes and Skirts - Plus Size Fashion for Women - alexawebb, com #alexawebb #plus #size

Plus Size Outfit Ideas – Stripes and Skirts

I like this skirt because of it’s versatility.  It could easily be dressed up a little for a garden wedding by adding a lacy cami, cardigan, statement necklace and a heel.  Or it could be made a bit more office-appropriate by adding a white button down with a blazer or cardigan and statement necklace, like this red bib.

Or you can choose a solid skirt, like this one.  Any solid color will do, just coordinate your accessories.  If you’re feeling bold, add a brightly printed scarf.  Replace the denim jacket with a blazer and you’re more work-appropriate.  Although I would argue this look would be fine for casual Fridays in the warmer months.

This skirt is adorable!  Much like my suggestions above, add a blazer and/or white button down with a statement necklace to make it a bit more professional.  And add black tights and booties until the warmer months.

I love this pencil skirt because of the bold print and its scuba fabric.  Scuba is neoprene, a material with a bit of stretch, but holds its shape, breathes, and is thick enough to cover imperfections.  How glad am I that it’s now used for clothes other than wet suits!?!?

  1. These outfits are so cute ! Do u think they are appropriate for a women in her late 40’s mayb a 3/4 length striped shirt rather than a tank? Although I feel young and I’m single ( newly divorced ) this is just what I need to refresh my wardrobe!! Thank you!!

    1. Frances! Congrats on the new life! I think you should wear what you like, as long as you’re comfortable, which lends itself to confidence, the most important thing! – Alexa

    1. Hi Alex,
Apples look good with an empire waist. So I would recommend wearing the full(er) skirts (not the pencil) with the waist band worn high, just under the bust, with the shirt tucked in. This will create the empire waist silhouette. Make sure your shirt is scoop or v-neck. Adding an open jacket on top will also be flattering.

  2. I love the green skirt/striped tank combo, but would it look good with a cardigan and if so what color?

    1. Hi Jessica,
I would go with a black cropped cardigan or shrug (like this one: https://goo.gl/5MgiIa). If you don’t have black, white would be my 2nd choice. Unless you wear a statement necklace with multiple colors, then you could pick a contrast color, like a red-orange. The necklace would tie it together. Hope that helps! – Alexa
