A plus size summer work mini-capsule wardrobe for adding color to your closet.
Is this a capsule? Probably not. A “mini-capsule?” Um, who knows. Lol.
These are just five “starter” summer work outfits for a business casual wardrobe, all featuring the same bright blue pants.
Plus Size Summer Work Mini-Capsule
Outfit 1 Details
Like all of the following ensembles, this first outfit features these plus size cornflower blue ankle pants.
These pants have a 28″ inseam making them a nice choice for warm weather.
I combined these bright blue pants with a coordinating short-sleeve camel and blue sweater.
Accessories
To accentuate the camel color in the sweater, I added a skinny belt and a tote bag in tan.
This stunning tan leather tote with contrast stitching is DeMellier’s “The New York.”
It is also available in a smaller size, that can also be worn across the body.
Also, top the look with some Celine sunglasses in “Havana.” Or try these shades for a more affordable option.
Lastly, add some tan ballet flats. I chose these uber comfortable Tieks flats.
Tieks & My Wide Feet
I was recently gifted a pair of Tieks.
I have wide width feet and typically wear a size 7.5W in ballet flats.
I was told if you have wide feet to size up a half size.
And the size 8 fit! And they are cute and comfortable!
You can see a little about them here.
Jewelry
I kept the jewelry trendy, gold, and fairly understated.
Starting with these gold huggie earrings.
Or try these for a similar but more affordable look.
And I love this on-trend gold “nugget” necklace.
I also recommend you try this one, which is more affordable and a long-time reader favorite.
For the wrist, stack on some trendy stretchy bracelets.
I have these, which fit my slightly-larger-than-average wrists with plenty of room.
And finish the jewelry with a gold dome ring.
See a similar but less expensive option here.
Bronzer
I have recently featured this Nars bronzer in this post and this post.
Point is, I have become a bit obsessed. I was always a Park Avenue Princess [fan].
But, I became reacquainted with the iconic Nars bronzer in it’s original shade: Laguna 02, which is a light-medium bronze with neutral undertones.
I was surprised to see this bronzer now comes in 9 shades. Wow! Something for everyone.
I think Nars nailed the undertone for my neutral skin tone and it has less “glow” than Tarte’s Park Avenue Princess.
It’s finely milled and looks beautiful. If you’re on a budget, I highly recommend Physician’s Formula’s Butter Bronzer.
Lip Gloss Stick: A New Fave
I know that I used to talk about my favorite lipsticks all the time… and then YSL discontinued them. Gasp!
But these YSL Loveshine Lip Oil Sticks are the same formula with a new scent! I ordered and tried my favorite shade, Nude Lavalliere, from Sephora. and can confirm they are the same!
However, I also tried this YSL lippie “Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick” in “Showcasing Nude” and must say that I like this formula better. Double gasp!
It seems to be as moisturizing as the Loveshine Lip Oil Sticks but with a better glossy finish.
They don’t last very long on the lips, but the moisture does, for sure.
Anyway, I know they are crazy expensive! Like, bonkers. But, they are SO good!
If you’re in the market for a bougie splurge, maybe give them a try?
Perfume
Now, why not smell lovely, summery, and florally (is that a word? lol) with this summer look?
I added this perfume, Valentino’s “Donna Born in Roma Coral Fantasy,” which is my newest favorite for warm weather.
It has been my go-to for spring and summer, as it is floral and a bit fruity, for the last year or two.

Outfit 2 Details
As always, trying to show you more options.
These blue pants will work with any neutral top but also any shirts with some blue details.
This next look is just the same as the first but I swapped plus size camel striped sweater for this roll-sleeve sheer shirt in a blue print.
I would wear this shirt tucked in or just tucked in the front. The former looks a bit more professional.

Outfit 3 – 5 Details
These last three outfits are quite similar to the first two, but I topped these looks with a coordinating blue jacket.
I love that this blazer has a striped lining that you can see if you roll up the sleeves. Yes!
I love this detail!
Adding the jacket is a great way to look more professional or add some warmth as needed.
These three looks also show more tops you can wear with these pants: a paisley top, a striped sleeveless sweater, and colorful sailor-tie sleeveless blouse.
