2025 Fall Family Photoshoot Outfits
The color scheme for this fall family photoshoot is navy and green. If you have any blackwatch plaid in your closet, that will work perfectly!
I put everyone in jeans because chances are you already have some favorite jeans and jeans are something that can be worn again and again.
Basically, I tried to choose items that many will already have or get a lot of use out of!

Women’s Jeans’ Stretchiness
Like I said, I put everyone in jeans. For these two looks, I opted from some jeans from J.Crew, including straight leg jeans and bootcut jeans.
The straight leg jeans are sturdy with a bit of stretch. A very ’90s cut. Remember those?
Or try these bootcut jeans with some stretch. J.Crew has a guide for a jeans stretchiness, which is super handy.
But, a great way to know how much stretch jeans have is to note the fabric content. The higher the cotton, the less stretch.
For example, the straight leg jeans are 99% cotton/1% elastane. This lets us know there is not a lot of stretch.
And the bootcut jeans are 94% cotton/4% polyester/2% Lycra. This lower percentage of cotton let’s us know there is more stretch. And the addition of polyester let’s us know that they’re likely very stretchy.
Side note, jeans this stretchy shouldn’t be dried in a hot dryer. Fluff them in the dryer, if you want, and then hang to dry.
J.Crew Jeans
These jeans are from J.Crew, which now has many items in plus sizes up to a size 24 or 3X.
Their sizing is comparable to Lane Bryant.
One thing to note is that some of their pants and jeans come by waist sizing (vanity), so check the size chart below to see which size you are.
Plaid Wraps & Ruanas
Sticking to the color scheme, this navy and green buffalo check ruana works perfectly!
However, it is not technically “plus size” so I found some great plus size options: this “oversized” Scottish tartan ruana, this plus size tartan cape, this reversible shawl, and this navy wrap.

I layered a ruana over a navy turtleneck. And I added some tan heeled booties.
More Outfit Details
I also found a cute green sweatshirt and layered an on-trend navy barn jacket on top of it.
This coordinates well with the men’s barn jacket and kids’ puffer barn jacket.
Much like the tan accessories bring these looks together.

The men’s looks follow the same playbook: navy and green, plaid, and tan accessories.
These will also look great on teen boys.
An on-trend (but timeless imo) navy barn jacket is paired with a plaid shirt. Add tan accessories: a belt and Chelsea boots.
Both looks feature jeans for an easy way to coordinate with the rest of the family’s outfits.
And the second choice includes this navy and green plaid fleece pull over layered over a navy oxford shirt with some tan lace-up boots.
