Each year Nordstrom has an amazing sale in which they mark down brand-spanking-new fall items. Then, after the sale, prices go back up! And don’t forget, as always, Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns! Plus, they have a great selection of plus size pieces on sale!
Get Early Access!
Get “early access” to the sale if you’re a card holder. The sale opens to the public on July 19th. Of course, if you don’t have a Nordstrom card, you an apply for one online right now.
And you don’t have to wait for the card to arrive in the mail to start saving. You can start shopping the sale immediately! Plus, you get $60 to use at Nordy’s on the day you are approved! Woot!

Plus Size Outfits – Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019

I have SO many things to talk about. But, please keep in mind that it is the middle of the night. I have been up researching this sale for days… So, this might not be my greatest (err, most coherent) blog post. Lol. Just keeping it real!
This first look I envisioned as a “day to night” date look. It is sweet and a little sexy, but very classy! It is perfect for an afternoon outing that turns into an evening event. It reminds me of this plus size date night look from last year that was so popular.
The sweetness comes in the details, like the freshwater pearl Y-necklace, the lace trim on the cami, and the mother of pearl earrings. The sexy comes from the tasteful amount of exposed skin of the décolletage under the feminine cami and duster cardigan. Oh yeah, and these amazing calf hair leopard wedges. Swoon! I LOVE a good wedge!
The Makeup
I also want to mention the makeup. This eye shadow palette seems similar to the iconic Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Quad. But the mini version has more shades making it easy to get complete eye looks. These are quite pricey palettes, but if you are in the market for luxury shadows that everyone seems to love, I do think they are a great choice. I also love ColourPop eye shadows and they have a great palette with similar colors.
And the MAC Nude Lip Mini Set looks like a great choice for nude lips at a good price. Plus, they can easily fit in small purses!

This second look can easily take you from the work week through the weekend. And from summer into fall. I recently posted some similar outfit ideas, so make sure you check those out too!
The plus size top with gathered neck is so interesting because it is crepe in the front and knit in the back, making it super comfortable! I love that! I paired it with this amazing plus size leopard pleated skirt, which is certainly a standout piece from the sale!
The snake embossed bag is so chic. And I love it paired with these perforated sandals. Gah! I just love this outfit!

This last plus size outfit features one of my favorite pieces out of the whole sale: a plus size leopard cardigan. I would be purchasing it if I didn’t already have one! If you remember, last year I created some looks with the same cardigan. I love it!
I chose to add these Good American raw hem jeans. If you have been as curious as I have about the brand, the #NSale is a great time to give them a try. There are many pairs of plus size Good American jeans on sale. But, I recommend carefully reading the descriptions as they are all cut differently with some higher and tighter in the waist, “Good Waist,” which is likely better for pear shapes. “Good Legs” are their lowest rise, although still considered high rise, and “Good Curve” is their highest rise.

You should make your readers aware that Nordstrom seems to be cracking down on returns. In the past I have shopped the sale (and made purchases from Nordstrom throughout the year) and assumed I could order items, try them on, return what doesn’t work out, and enjoy the customer service that Nordstrom used to be famous for. Earlier this year, I received a shockingly rude letter cancelling my account, and informing me that I (and no members of my household ???? ) are not welcome at Nordstrom due to excessive returns. No warning, no phone call or e-mail asking me why my returns were what they were, or anything. It felt so degrading to receive that nasty letter. (I will share it with you if you are interested in seeing it). I have been loving and following your blog for a long time, and I just thought you should be aware of Nordstrom’s current practice before highlighting “free returns!” in your Nordstrom Anniversary Sale posts. They might seem “free” up front, but there is a back end price that is secret!
2023, I’ve had nothing but a great experience with the few returns I’ve had with Nordstroms. I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE, what you’re doing! In fact you dress 3 different members of my household!! Lol
We are thoughtful on what we order, so it’s less likely that we do have a return.
