As I recently discussed in an Instagram Live, I am not the best person to create capsule wardrobes. 

Minimalism is not my thing [at all], as evidenced by my overflowing closets and extra racks of clothes. 

But, several readers asked me to come up with some ideas for packing lists and vacation outfits that can be mixed and matched. 

So, I thought I would start small with this plus size beach weekend capsule. 

Although not an exhaustive packing list, it is a great place to start for items that can be mixed and matched for a myriad of trips.

Personally, I think you can never go wrong with nautical vibes, especially for mixing and matching. 

Basically anything red, white, or navy works together. 

Plus, it’s timeless.  These pieces will never go out of style.

Plus Size Beach Weekend Capsule – Outfit Ideas

For this capsule I chose items that can be used in multiple ways. 

For example, the red Longchamp tote can work as a beach bag but also a shoulder bag for casual outings. 

Depending on where you’re heading, you can swap the bags and shoes to change things up. 

Although I didn’t show it, you can also wear the red swimsuit as a bodysuit under the white shorts for additional options. 

And you can top any of the looks with that super lightweight cardigan for cooler evenings or rainy days.

Another example of this collection’s versatility is the plus size striped tunic cover-up.  It can be worn pool-side over a swimsuit. 

And you can also take that look straight from the beach to the bar. 

Plus, you can also wear the cover-up as a dress and pair with a cute clutch for a casual dinner.
