Plus Size on a Budget – Fourth of July 2025
My “Disclaimer”
I want to prevent some anticipated feedback. So please keep these things in mind:
- “Budget” is relative. Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
- You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less. These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across. And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed. Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
- Recycle & reuse. As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe. Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks. Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.
Plus Size Cotton Dresses
Both of these plus size outfit ideas feature the same adorable plus size navy dress, which is 100% cotton and washable.
The featured dress is available in sizes XS – 4X.

Outfit 1 Details
For this first look, I went sporty with it. Top the dress with some oversized aviator sunglasses and baseball cap.
I have mentioned this before, but the “typical” size aviators are 58mm, but I like the 62mm for an oversized look on my rounder face.
Keep it cute and on-trend with these low top sneakers. I love the pop of red in these tennis shoes.
Add a plus size sling bag, which has an extended strap that reaches up to 62″.

Jewelry
For jewelry, go with these chic cable hoop earrings.
For the wrists, add a set of on-trend delicate gold chain bracelets.
Lastly, a gold dome ring finishes the look.
Jewelry Care
The aforementioned beauties are gold plated, so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.
Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, hot tubs, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.
Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible. This will keep the gold plating from damage and tarnishing.
Beauty
Throw on a bold red lip if you want to really amp up the look.
The perfume I featured is from Dossier, which makes designer-inspired fragrances.
I ordered a bunch of Dossier’s scents. And I love them! In my opinion, they last on the skin as long as the fragrances they are inspired by.
This featured perfume is Dossier’s “Gourmand Orange Blossom,” which is inspired by Lancôme’s “La Vie Est Belle” Eau de Parfum.
This stunning fragrance has notes of Iris, Earthy Patchouli, Warm Vanilla & Spun Sugar. It’s feminine but strong.
As I have mentioned many times, I have tried several of Dossier’s scents and think they are fantastic for a fraction of the price.

Outfit 2 Details
Just like the first look, this second outfit idea features the same plus size navy dress.
Make it “festive” with some red, white, and blue tassel earrings and a straw tote with a red, white, and blue striped scarf.
Stay the course with some red H sandals and a bold red lip.
Do note that these red H sandals run a little narrow, try these for an alternative or these in wide width, depending on your needs.
Accessories
Top the look with some designer-inspired brown tortoise geometric sunglasses.

Then I added one of my favorite bracelets that fits my slightly-wider-than-average wrist.
And it looks so much more expensive than it is!
Finish the look with a gold dome ring.
Perfume
As for the perfume, it’s my longtime “signature scent.”
I have been in love with this fragrance, Vera Wang, since college.
It may smell “dated” but I always get compliments on it.
And the best part is that now it’s inexpensive.
