Outfit 1 Details

If you want to look cute and stay comfortable for the fourth, try this look with a navy dress.

Wear it with some sneakers like classic Chuck Taylors.

If you need wide width, try the unisex version.

Throw on a tan crossbody bag and some red sunnies.

Then layer on some gold jewelry, including a some large gold hoop earrings.

Try these, which are my favorite gold hoops, at a great price!

Life is Short, Wear Stripes

These plus size looks feature a striped dress and striped top.

I am frequently asked why I style plus size clothing with stripes?

First, horizontal stripes are a classic pattern.

Stripes can be found historically and presently in Parisian chic, sailing, preppy styles, rugby, and hell, even prisoners.  Lol.

Point being, I care about style and vertical stripes do not have the same aesthetic.

Second, wearing solids and dark colors are perhaps a way to look “smaller” (by like what, a visual inch or 2?) but what a boring and sad way to dress and live life!

But, if you’re still unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It

She explains, “No, horizontal stripes won’t make you look fat. Only being fat makes you look fat.  And you know what, that’s okay.”

I think Melissa does a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes.

As I said, this red crossbody bag “pops” with the navy and white striped dress.

Top the look with some classic aviator sunglasses.

I went with the same gold jewelry as the other outfits.

But, I opted for some Tory Burch Miller Cloud sandals.

Tory Burch Sandals for Wide Feet

I purchased the Miller Cloud sandals (or here) and they fit my wide feet!

I typically wear a 7.5W, but I got the 7.5 and they fit me perfectly.

Note that I purchased mine 2 seasons ago, so I am unsure if they have changed the fit.

But if you have wide feet, Tory Burch is offering leather slides in wide width (C).  Woot!

These are probably your best best.

So, if you’ve got wide feet let me hear ya say “Hell yeah!”

  1. I am having waaaayyyy to much fun on your site! Love all your post. Love looking to see what you put together and then going to my closet and finding similar pieces to put the same look together.

  2. Just started following you. I’m 66. Am I too old to wear this? It’s cute, but I kind of wish you had one picture for mature women.
