Wow, it has been too long since my last plus size on a budget post!

Plus Size on a Budget – My “Disclaimer”

I want to prevent some anticipated feedback.  So please keep these things in mind:

  • “Budget” is relative.  Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
  • You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less.  These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across.  And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed.  Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
  • Recycle & reuse.  As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.  Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks.  Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.

Outfit 1 Details

Because on Wednesdays we wear pink.

A bright pink pair of skinny ankle pants and a coordinating jacket make a statement for spring.

Full length pants and wide leg trousers are available in the same color.

Add a navy and cream ikat top to complete the look.

Some pale gold loafers, beige tote, and cream sunglasses will have you ready for warmer weather.

Add a navy hair scarf and a stack of bracelets for a little extra.

Pavoi Jewelry

The huggie hoop earrings featured in this look are made by PAVOI, which I’ve mentioned many times before.

You can find PAVOI on Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!

I actually own a bunch of PAVOI pieces now.  I started with a couple of these thick gold hoops in the two larger sizes.  I was quite impressed.

Subsequently, I bought a bunch more of their pieces.  Actually, I have so many pieces now, I have lost track!  But, so far so good!

Jewelry Care

These are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.

Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.  This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.

FYI, you can check out some more of my picks in my Amazon store.

This second outfit idea is just like the first, but I opted for a cardigan instead of a blazer

Just a bit more relaxed for business causal dress codes.

  1. I would not, in a million years, have imagined I’d be buying a hot pink pant suit but I couldn’t resist! Thank you for the affordable options! Helps me return to the office looking good.

  2. Hi,
Thanks for the pink jacket outfit! I could wear it for Valentine’s Day in the office. Maybe just switch out the blouse! Thank you for the great idea and giving me something for Valentin’s Day!
