Linen Keeps You Cool

As the title of this post suggests, most of these pieces are linen.  Perfect for staying cool in the summer!

The fuchsia pants and shirt are 100% linen and the short-sleeve sweater is a linen-blend.

Linen is just a classy fabric.  Period.  It drapes in a lovely and unmistakable way.

And linen is a natural fiber known for keeping you cool in hot weather.  Yes!

That’s because linen breathes and absorbs moisture.

But Linen Wrinkles…

Linen might seem difficult to deal with, but it’s actually quite easy.  And it’s machine washable! 

As I’ve said, people often ask me how to keep their linen clothes from wrinkling.

For one, linen is always going to wrinkle.  Always. 

And really, that is part of “the look.”  You know, that rich bougie b!tch look that I love so much!

Two, a linen-blend will wrinkle less.     

And three, if you iron with starch, linen will wrinkle slightly less.  But, I say, just let it go!

Outfit 1 Details

This first look features the 100% linen set: pants and shirt.

Top the look with some Celine sunglasses in “Havana.”  Or try these shades for a more affordable option.

Add a rectangle raffia clutch with brown leather handles.

I’m low-key obsessed with bag.  And it will never go out of style, I promise.

Jewelry

I kept the jewelry classic, gold, and fairly understated.

 Starting with these gold hoop earrings. Or try these for a more affordable choice.

I have these from Amazon in every size.  They’re great and lightweight.

As for a bracelet, how about a classic and classy gold coin bracelet?  So chic!

I have this inexpensive coin bracelet, which fits my slightly-larger-than-average wrists and has an amazing price!

And finish the jewelry with a gold dome ring.

Perfume: Mojave Ghost

I chose BYREDO’s “Mojave Ghost” for the scent.

As I’ve said before, it feels like a modern scent but a bit boho. 

Like something you’d wear to Burning Man in case you end up wanting to flirt with a hot EMT in the medical tent after taking too much peyote.

Point is, it’s a winner!

And it is certainly worth a try if you’re in the market for a trendier scent.

Outfit 2 Details

This second look is just like the first with this beautiful purple linen set:  pants and shirt.

Both are 100% linen, so they will keep you cool.

But, I swapped the brown accessories for black and wheat, starting with these designer sunnies.

I have the similar ones from Amazon and love them!

Then I added a statement piece, this zebra print raffia crescent bag.  It’s a stunner!

Any of these gorgeous bags would work:

For sandals, I added these chic raffia slide sandals.  

Jewelry

As for jewelry, I opted for some trendy huggie gold hoop earrings.

Or try these for a similar but more affordable look.

For the wrist, stack on some trendy stretchy bracelets.

I have these, which fit my slightly-larger-than-average wrists with plenty of room.

And lastly, complete the sculptural jewelry trend with a gold dome ring.

Perfume: Le Labo’s Santal 33.

For the scent, I included one of the most-loved fragrances from Le Labo: Santal 33.

Santal 33 is a unisex fragrance described as “captures a defining image of the spirit of the American West.” 

Essentially, it smells like you bottled the aura of a hippie’s spirit animal with the collective mood of Burning Man, then added some sandalwood.

If it’s over your budget, I highly recommend you try the Dossier version or the Twist version.

Both brands make fragrances inspired by designer scents.

I tried the brand Dossier.  I ordered a bunch of their scents.  And so far, I love them!

Outfit 3 Details

This third look is similar to the first two, but I swapped the 100% linen shirt for a short-sleeve linen-blend sweater in the same fuchsia color.

I added a large fan-shaped raffia tote with black trim.

It will look great with these raffia footbed sandals, which also have black trim.  So chic!

The jewelry is pretty much the same, except I added a blog favorite, this on-trend gold “nugget” necklace.

I also recommend you try this one, which is more affordable and a long-time reader favorite.

Outfit 4 Details

For this last look, I wanted to show that these plus size purple linen pants will look great with other tops as well.  

Any white or neutral tee would look great, I love this plus size white elbow-length sleeve tee from Lands’ End.

I love LE tees!  These pima cotton v-neck tees are my favorite.

And these fuchsia pants look great with this woven tote bag in “Teak,” which is a complementary color.

These colors “pop” off of each other.

And keep the look interesting these these leopard print footbed sandals with black trim.  Love them!
