These three casual looks will take you from summer into fall.
And I think they’d also make great outfits for teachers!
Life is Short, Wear Stripes
If you’re a regular reader, you know I love stripes.
As I’ve said, I am a stripe-aholic. Sorry, not sorry.
But, if you’re unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It.
She does such a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes.
Look 1 Details
All of the outfits feature a cotton midi shift dress in a navy and white rugby stripe.
So preppy, so perfect.
As always, top with a denim jacket as needed.
Add some interest with a pop of color. In this look, I opted for some bold red flats.
Accessories
For sunglasses, I chose classic Ray-Ban aviators that every preppy gal needs.
As for the bag, a small brown leather crossbody keeps the look polished but also a little sporty.
You can never go wrong with timeless gold jewelry like thin hoop earrings, a link bracelet, and a designer bracelet watch.
Lipstick
And since I’ve added some pops of red to the outfit, a bright red lip finishes the look.
I usually go with a liquid lip for bold shades. I love the neutral undertone of Mac’s “Feels So Grand.”
For a little less money, pick up one of my favorite lippies, Sephora’s “Always Red.”
I know I have talked about these liquid lipsticks in my Instagram stories, but not sure if I’ve mentioned them on the blog.
They’re very comfortable and do not dry out my lips. And my lips are typically pretty dry to begin with!
Most of them are transfer-proof. I have noticed that some shades do transfer or rub off more easily.
And lastly, they wear nicely. Meaning they will not become flaky or patchy as they wear throughout the day.

Again, a navy rugby striped dress is topped with a denim jacket.
But this time I added some pops of green.
A bright grass green Gucci GG Marmont bag is the star of the show!
Coordinate with some Stan Smith Adidas sneakers which have a bright green heel tab. Perfect!
And then add some green hoop earrings for the trifecta.
Complete the athleisure vibe with a navy baseball cap.
Lipstick
Finish off your look with a hot pink lip, like “Rose Saint Germain” from YSL.
As I’ve said, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here) are my favorite lipsticks.
I readily admit they are bougie AF and totally break the budget. But they are amazing!
They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips! Not to mention they smell fantastic.
Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder like this one to display them.
And I just can’t say enough great things about them!
The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks.
While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.

This time I topped the navy striped dress with a mustard yellow cardigan.
I kept the same preppy jewelry and accessories from Look 1.
But, again, I opted for some sneakers like Look 2.
I chose the classic Converse Chuck Taylor low top sneakers in white.
Wear sockless or with no show socks.
