Plus Size Spring Capsule 2023 – Part 1

Let me preface this with what I regularly say when creating a capsule: I am NOT a minimalist.
If you’re looking for a minimalist capsule, I’m not your girl.
I am an unapologetic clothes horse. Every closet in my house, plus a spare bedroom, plus half of my dining room, are full of clothes! (I need an intervention.)
So this is a collection of ‘mix and match’ outfit ideas for spring casual and work wear.
Outfit 1 Details
These first four looks are great ideas for work or play.
A camel pleated midi skirt and a blush pink blouse is a lovely combination for spring.
If a pleated skirt isn’t your thing, here is a similar slip skirt.
Top with a denim jacket as needed.
And add some pink boucle loafers.
As for accessories, I started with one of my favorite designer bags, Saint Laurent’s Lou in taupe.
Then I saw these Ray-Ban aviators in a square shape and thought they’d be fresh for spring.
Jewelry
And for jewelry, gold classics: wide hoop earrings, delicate bracelets, and a gemstone ring.
The gold bracelets are from the brand Mevecco, which is on Amazon.
I recently purchased this turquoise bracelet, paperclip bracelet, and cable bracelet.
I freakin’ love them all!

Jewelry Care
These are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.
Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.
Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible. This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.
Beauty
Finish your look with some tinted lip balm.
Add a spring fragrance with some perfume.
I always get compliments when wearing this citrus and floral scent: J’Adore Dior Lumière.

Outfit 2 Details
This second outfit has the same pleated skirt, blush blouse, and boucle loafers.
But this time I was thinking about a work outfit, so I went with a large tote and a classic trench coat.
For jewelry, I stacked the wrist with one of my favorite gold chain bracelets, Tory Burch watch, ball bracelet, and a bangle.
And for earrings, you’ll see the same gold plated large hoops.
Plus, I added a ring I am low-key obsessed with.
My Favorite Lipstick
I thought I’d also mention that the featured lipstick is my favorite.
As I’ve said, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks are my favorite lipsticks.
I readily admit they are bougie AF and totally break the budget. But they are amazing!
They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips! Not to mention they smell fantastic.
Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder, like this one, to display them.
And I just can’t say enough great things about them!
The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks.
In my experience, these are similar, but they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.
Update: Recently someone told me that the L’Oreal’s Glow Paradise Balm-in-Lipstick is a dupe.
I ordered one to try, and I found it really disappointing.
They‘re not very moisturizing and the smell is unappealing (that chemical lipstick smell).

Outfit 3 & 4 Details
This third outfit is much like the first, but I swapped the pleated skirt for some pink trousers.
For the fourth outfit, I thought about taking this look to work, just like outfit 2, so I included a large tote and a classic trench coat.

So sad that the camel pleated skirt is gone from J. Crew’s website. Perhaps there is a substitute that will not sell out so quickly.
