Straight Size to Plus Size – Striped Pullover

It has been a minute since I have added to my “Straight Size to Plus Size” series.  So today I bring you this classic ensemble from Emma Hill.  It’s an old post, but I don’t think this look will ever really go out of style.

I’m so inspired by Emma Hill’s Instagram account!  She is a London-based straight size blogger who has an amazing style.

You can shop Emma Hill’s straight size outfit on the LiketoKnow.it app here.  You can also find her blog here.   And be sure to follow her on Pinterest for amazing outfit inspo!

My Disclaimer

As I’ve said, these “Straight Size to Plus Size” posts are some of my most popular, but I also get complaints that the “models” in the images aren’t “plus sized.”

So I just wanted to give a little background of why I do these types of posts:

We are all inundated every day by images of thin celebrities, models, and bloggers sporting the “latest looks,” i.e. clothing that doesn’t come in our size.

So I try to take these “unattainable” images and prove that, in fact, with some effort, plus size women can put these hot looks together.  They are attainable!

And I try to take the effort, i.e. searching everywhere for the pieces, out of the equation.  So as always, my main goal is to inspire and empower.

Look 1

Such an easy outfit.  And everyone should have a neutral scarf, skinny jeans, and ankle booties in their wardrobes.

I found this amazing striped pullover with zipper details.  Love it!  And it’s available to a size 2X or 22.

I tend to get questions and concerns when I post striped items, so let me say…

Life is Short, Wear Stripes

If you’re a regular reader, you know I love stripes.  As I’ve said, I am a stripe-aholic.  Sorry, not sorry.

But, if you’re unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It.

She does such a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule.”

Look 2

You’re in luck today.  I decided to come up with a second outfit idea with this striped pullover.  Again, just sticking with neutrals.

My Favorite Lipstick

As I’ve said, my favorite lipsticks, which I readily admit are bougie AF and totally break the budget, are these Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here).

They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips!  Not to mention they smell fantastic.  And I just can’t say enough great things about them!

The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks.  While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.
