Hello, old friend. Not you, the cardigan. 🙂 This plus size bellini cardigan is quite possibly my favorite garment of all time. I have at least five of them. Honestly, I’ve lost count, but I think it’s five. So, when I decided to come up with a look for this cardi for the blog, all I could think was, it works with everything. I mean, nearly everything, seriously.
I have worn this exact cardigan in every season. With three-quarter length sleeves it is truly all-season. And here are some times I have worn it, in no particular order:
- At work with trousers
- On dates with jeans and kitten heels
- On dates with a denim skirt and flats
- To bar trivia with jeans and riding boots
- To my birthday celebration with a denim skirt
- To a memorial service with a pencil skirt
- To shoot trap with jeans and sneakers
- Running errands over yoga pants
So yeah, it is a favorite, mainly because it is very flattering and so versatile. Apples will especially like the tie just under the bust to create that faux waist that I talk about in my Styling Tips for Plus Size Apple Shapes post. Plus, the fabric drapes so nicely and floats away from the tummy in the front. Brilliant! So, although it doesn’t seem like it is super special, I really think you’ll find it to be one of the best things in your closet.
The plus size black bellini cardigan comes in sizes 0X (10 – 12) – 5X (30 – 32). You can see it modeled on different sizes at Kiyonna. See how to find your correct size here, including size comparisons to other plus size brands. Why, thank you, Kiyonna! And it is also available in navy, green, and some prints, here or here.
These cardis are pretty easy to care for, too. You can wash them in cold water on the delicate setting. I also recommend using a lingerie bag if you have one. The tie got caught in the agitator of my washing machine once and it caused some tearing. I lost a good cardigan that day. Still painful to talk about. 😉
