Linen Keeps You Cool

As the title of this post suggests, the plus size suits in these outfits are linen!

Linen is just a classy fabric.  Period.  It drapes in a lovely and unmistakable way.

And linen is a natural fiber known for keeping you cool in hot weather.  Yes!

That’s because linen breathes and absorbs moisture.

But Linen Wrinkles…

Linen might seem difficult to deal with, but it’s actually quite easy.  And it’s machine washable! 

As I’ve said, people often ask me how to keep their linen clothes from wrinkling.

For one, linen is always going to wrinkle.  Always. 

And really, that is part of “the look.”  You know, that rich bougie b!tch look that I love so much!

Two, a linen-blend, like this suit, will wrinkle less.   

And three, if you iron with starch, linen will wrinkle slightly less.  But, I say, just let it go!

Outfit 1 Details

Like I said, I styled this plus size purple suit three ways.

This is the first and perfect for business casual offices in the summer.

As you see here, I paired the blazer with the coordinating wide leg pants. 

But, the coordinating Bermuda shorts would also work.

Any underlayer will work, I opted for this rib-knit tank.

Accessories

Keep this look modern and trendy with some pointed toe d’Orsay pumps in white.

They’re a great everyday option with a 1.75″ block heel.

And a bougie tote in black is perfect for the office.

While retro-inspired sunglasses in black will keep you looking chic.

As for jewelry, a chunky gold chain necklace and spike earrings are a little edgy yet work-appropriate.

Beauty

The featured lipstick is my favorite.

As I’ve said, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here) are my favorite lipsticks. 

I readily admit they are bougie AF and totally break the budget.  But they are amazing!

They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips!  Not to mention they smell fantastic. 

Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder, like this one, to display them.

And I just can’t say enough great things about them!

The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks. 

While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.

Update: Recently someone told me that the L’Oreal’s Glow Paradise Balm-in-Lipstick is a dupe. 

I ordered one to try, and I found it really disappointing.  

They‘re not very moisturizing and the smell is unappealing (that chemical lipstick smell).

As for the perfume, I went with a new favorite: BVLGARI’s Rose Goldea Eau de Parfum.

It’s a sophisticated floral.

Outfit 2 Details

This second look features the suit with the coordinating Bermuda shorts.

These lavender linen shorts have a 6.25″ inseam.

Really be on-trend with “matchy matchy” lilac platform sandals.

As I’ve said, Bottega Veneta is still the “it” designer for bags, everyone has been influenced by their “pouch” bag.

This outfit features their “teen pouch,” which is slightly smaller.

Of course, the pants would also work.

These color-blocked Tory Burch Miller sandals look great with this look.

Keep things classic with some Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses.

A linen and leather designer tote bag keeps things easy and chic.
