Wear the Stripes
This outfit includes a striped tunic tee. As I mentioned in my last post with stripes, I am an unapologetic stripe-aholic.
But, I often get questions and concerns from readers about stripes making you look bigger or a “rule” about no stripes.
In my opinion, life is just too short to worry about wearing stripes and as Melissa at Suger Coat It demonstrates in her blog post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” they’re really not.
She does such a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule.”
My Favorite Ponte Leggings
While any ponte leggings will do, I wanted to mention my favorite ones.
These leggings are stretchy enough to be comfortable but sturdy enough to maintain their shape. And they are thick enough to look smoother than a typical legging.
Many readers have emailed me to say how much they love these leggings as I have been recommending them for years now!
However, if you are petite, try these . For tall, try these.
Wide Calf Boots
As for the wide calf boots, I chose these, which are 15.5″ shaft tall and have a 17-19″ shaft circumference.

I also wanted to mention that I highly recommend Duo Boots, if they’re in your budget. They offer high-quality genuine leather boots in “custom” circumferences up to 20″!
Lipstick
As I’ve said, my favorite lipsticks, which I readily admit are bougie AF and totally break the budget, are these Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here).
They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips! Not to mention they smell fantastic. And I just can’t say enough great things about them!
The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks. While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.
