Plus Size Preppy Fall Outfit

A super cute plus size preppy fall outfit because: reasons.  I mean, we can’t have too many of those, amirite?

The plus size vest is light weight and great for multi-season wear.

Nude Lipsticks

I recently received a couple of requests to include the names of the shades of any makeup included in the posts.

I hear you and I’m trying to remember to include them.

In this instance, I chose a moisturizing nude lip.  These gorgeous YSL lipsticks are made with oil and feel more like a balm with color.

But, they are pretty expensive (ok, ridiculously expensive) and I think the L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipsticks are great substitutes.  They are also like a high shine oil.

I love L’Oreal’s nude color “Glossy Fawn” which I think is comparable to the YSL “Nude in Private.”

If you’re looking for an inexpensive nude with a satin finish that will work with most light to medium skin tones, try “Fairest Nude.”

And if you’re looking for a highly pigmented nude lip gloss, try “Nude Ballet.”

And while we’re on the topic, my favorite inexpensive nude lip liner is “Natural” by Rimmel.

  1. I bought several of these vests last year and love them. Wash well and still look brand new. They are light (not bulky!) and look fine with a denim or fleece jacket under them if it is a little cooler. I ordered a size down.

  2. This shirt is amazing if you have long arms or like a little cuff at your wrist.
So soft and mine haven’t shrunk in the dryer. I liked it so much that I went back and bought the maroon, black and white.

  3. I would love to see a pants alternative for these cute casual outfits – for being able to dress down at work, but not wear jeans. Literally that would go with something like this without changing one other thing. I’ve tried, but I just feel like khaki pants look too grandma. Thoughts?

    1. Hi Leigh,
I like the idea of throwing khaki, tan, or taupe in the mix. Charcoal grey would also work. I think what would help is a modern cut. Skinny, ankle, wide leg, bootcut, or kick flares. Steer clear of straight or tapered cuts. With those booties, I like the idea of a skinny pant, either ankle length, or rolled up above the boot.

My favorite trousers would work too. They also come in grey.

And lastly, consider a trouser jean.

I hope that gives you some more ideas!

  4. YSL lipsticks are the best! I usually order them around Christmas direct from their website and you get a good discount plus you can rack up points for gifts.
