If you regularly read the blog, you’d know that I feature Nordstrom items a lot. Like, a lot a lot. So whenever they ask me to partner with them for a post, I secretly (ok, now not so secretly) do a little dance. It’s a mix of the cabbage patch and the “Carlton dance” a la Fresh Prince. It’s not a good look and I swear my dog quietly judges me. But, the point is I’m so happy to have the opportunity because Nordstrom is one of my favorite retailers!
Let Me Count the Ways
The feedback I get is that y’all really love Nordy’s too! And it’s easy to see why. They offer free shipping and free returns with no minimum purchase. Their customer service has me feeling like a VIP, even when I’m just calling about my order of a $7 face mist. I mean they are probably losing money just shipping it to me, yet they treat me like a baller. I’m all about that life. You can read all about their amazing services, like styling and tailoring, here.
And I find their selection of plus size clothing to be a great mix of classic and trendy. They take risks but also have pieces you can wear to work or a black-tie wedding. And their range of price points will work with a variety of budgets.
FYI, I want to be a buyer for Nordstrom because they really do kill it. So if any Nordstrom executive happens to stumble across my humble little blog, please consider hiring me! I’m on LinkedIn!
I mean, take this plus size red blazer that I’m featuring in today’s post, for example. It is such a classic piece, you might even say a staple. And no, it’s not reinventing the wheel, but, search for something comparable in the plus size marketplace. There is nothing out there that is at this level of quality, with a modern cut, and in a bright red. Period. It simply does not exist. And the blazer is available up to size 24W. By the way, this blazer is also amazing and comes in sizes 14W – 28W.
So speaking of this beautiful classy red blazer, I really went casual with it. I paired it with a striped tank top and bootcut jeans. There is a bit of a 90s vibe going on here and I ain’t mad about it. I added a comfortable wedge sandal but the higher you can go, the better. These platform wedges are also a great choice if you can wear them without injury. In my current state, I would throw my back out, fall, and break something. But, they are pretty cute, might be worth it, no?
And I think this blazer is versatile. You could wear it to the office with a sleeveless ivory blouse and a cropped pant or ankle pant. Roll up the sleeves as needed in warm weather. Easy peasy.

The photo you use in your collage has a red that is much closer to a true red – the photos from Nordstrom make the jacket look more of a orangey, terra cotta or tomato-y red. I wondered about the discrepancy so I looked through all their photos and found a video that showed the jacket looking very orange, and much further from your photo.
Just pointing this out because the shades really matter, and while I’d love to buy the red jacket you have in your collage, that doesn’t seem to be the real deal, color-wise.
It is a tomato red. In my collage the color is a bit darker than the true color. I should see if I can fix that. The image that I included in the post of the jacket itself is the true color. I hope that helps!
