Plus Size Red Holiday Outfits

These plus size holiday outfit ideas are all about mixing and matching some of my favorite pieces!

Outfit 1 Details

I started with a tunic-length cashmere turtleneck sweater in holiday red.  

To make the look extra festive [I always have to be extra 😉 ], I added some sequin pants.

If you’re worried about them wearing on the thighs, try these sequin-front leggings.

And fear not, if sequin pants aren’t your thing, I offer more options below.

To really set things off, add some tartan plaid pumps or flats.

Accessories

For accessories, I opted for a designer clutch.  But any black clutch will work.

Some statement crystal earrings (these are such a great price) and a green cocktail ring make the look extra festive.

Stack some bling on the wrist with a green crystal cuff, clear crystal bracelet, and a crystal encrusted watch.

And a bold red lip is the greatest accessory!

Plaid on Plaid?

I’m obsessed with this plaid coat!  

And even though I love mixing prints, I typically don’t like multiples of the same type of print.

For example, I would never do a leopard clutch with leopard pumps.

But for some reason, I like this plaid on plaid.  It’s got “extra-ness” for the holidays and I’m here for it.

Outfit 2 Details

This second plus size holiday outfit idea is much like the first but this time I paired faux leather leggings with the tunic-length cashmere turtleneck sweater.

These plus size faux leather leggings (here or here) are very well-reviewed with 4.5/5 stars.

It’s not surprising, considering they’re made by Spanx and offer the control that anyone can use when wearing a legging! 

Some reviewers even reported that these leggings “hid” their cellulite. 

What!?!

Sizing

They run a little small, but keep in mind, much like Spanx shapewear undergarments, they will be a pain in the a$$ to put on but that’s what you need to keep everything snatched!

They are a support level 2, which is mid-range for Spanx, which offer 3 levels of support.

So, you’ll want them to be tight.  Something to think about when you’re evaluating the fit.

Also, you should probably size up, especially if you are apple-shaped.  If you experience any rolling down at the waist, getting the next size up should fix that.

Outfits 3 & 4 Details

These next outfits are much like the ones above but this time I swapped the tunic-length sweater for one that is hip-length.

I think this will create a better silhouette with a midi-length sequin skirt or flare trousers.

For these final outfits, I opted for some plus size flare leg trousers in black.
