Plus Size Chambray Shirt Outfits – Part 1

Chambray Shirt

A chambray shirt is a great layer for spring into summer.

It makes a better choice than a denim jacket in warmer weather.

And you can get different weights of chambray.

The featured shirt is a heavier weight.  But check out this one for a lighter version.

You can wear the shirt open or partially buttoned. 

And you can roll up the sleeves to stay cool.

Outfit Details

For this post, I layered the chambray shirt over a red striped tee.  

I love that this t-shirt has an elbow-length sleeve.

These layers go great with some white denim like these white trouser jeans.

J.Crew Sizing

These white wide leg jeans are from J.Crew.

In case you haven’t heard, J.Crew now has many items in plus sizes up to a size 24 or 3X. 

Their sizing is comparable to Lane Bryant. 

One thing to note is that some of their pants and jeans come by waist sizing (vanity), so check the size chart below to see which size you are.

Accessories

For the first look, I kept it casual and sporty with some low Chuck Taylors.

If you need wide width, try the men’s/unisex version.

Add a raffia tote for a carefree vibe.

Some oversized tortoise sunglasses top the look along with some classic gold hoop earrings.

These hoops are some of my favorite and I have them in several sizes.

Stack the wrists with some gold classics like this chain bracelet that I have and love.

And lastly, add a chic gold ring.

Outfit 2 Details

As the weather warms, try the same look with some sandals.

In this second outfit idea I swapped the sneakers for some Tory Burch sandals.

Tory Burch Sandals for Wide Feet

I purchased the Miller Cloud sandals (or here) and they fit my wide feet!

I typically wear a 7.5W, but I got the 7.5 and they fit me perfectly.  

Note that I purchased mine 2 seasons ago, so I am unsure if they have changed the fit.  

But if you have truly wide feet, Tory Burch is offering leather slides in wide width (C).  Woot!

These are probably your best best.

So, if you’ve got wide feet let me hear ya say “Hell yeah!”

Outfit 3 Details

As things really heat up, try this ensemble with some shorts.

This third outfit idea is the same as the first but with some camel chino shorts.

With the sneakers, you’ll want to go sockless or with no show socks.

Or try some khaki or olive green shorts.

I love a Bermuda short with a 10″ to 11″ inseam, that’s my sweet spot.
