The most requested post of all time: a plus size fall work capsule wardrobe for 2021.

But this is just Part 1 of a series because I came up with too many outfit ideas for just one post!

As I mentioned, I’m going through some health issues.  Overall I am better, but unfortunately, I’ve had some setbacks. 

And I am still trying to catch up with everything.  The struggle is real!

So even though I actually started working on this capsule well over a month ago, I am just now getting to post Part 1.

To be clear, I have worked on this collection for many many days!

Low Stock & Sold Out Items

Unfortunately, that means that some of the items now have lower stock available, select sizes unavailable, and one piece was completely sold out!

This also contributed to the delay because I had to search for more alternative options for you.  That took me a very long time!

But, the good news is that as I post additional parts of the series, I will be adding more choices.  So please be patient.

I apologize if you aren’t able to get some original items in your size.  But, I did my best to offer you the best similar alternatives that I could find.

Dress Code: Business Casual

This capsule is a collection of plus size business casual outfit ideas.  These looks should be appropriate for most offices with a  business casual dress code.

But, be sure to check your employee handbook or HR department for guidance. 

Some offices do not allow open-toed or backless shoes, so be mindful of those policies when it comes to the mules included in this capsule.

If your office is too conservative for this much color or has a business professional dress code, please let me know in the comments below and I will try to address your needs in future workwear posts.

Color Story

Unlike my last plus size fall work capsule, which featured mostly neutral colors, this collection has a lot more color. 

I also tried to include some interesting color combinations like mint or teal with an “olive-y/forest-y” green.  And plum with eggplant.

This capsule also includes some monochromatic outfits you’ll see in later posts.

Again, I received a lot of feedback for more accessories, to this time I tried to include a variety of scarves and necklaces to really switch things up.

As you can see in the image below, simply swapping out the scarf or jewelry will keep you from getting bored.

Accessories

This capsule includes 9 scarves and 7 necklaces.  And you’ll see even more supplemental options in future posts. 

Do you need that many scarves or necklaces?  Of course not!

But, as I’ve warned in the past, I am not the best at these “minimalist” collections because, as I talk about frequently on Instagram Live, I am anything but a minimalist. 

I am a “maximalist.”

I’m an unapologetic clothes-hoarding fashionista who has filled every closet and cranny of her home with garments. 

And don’t even get me started on my insane scarf and shoe collections!

Point being, as always, pick and choose what you like. 

Hopefully, you’ll already have many similar items you can incorporate from your own closet.

And make sure you check out the “less $ similar” options linked below for less expensive alternatives.

Plus Size Juniper Green Pants

As I mentioned above, due to delays, the original plus size green pants I chose are now only available in limited sizes. 

Fortunately, these green pants, which are also available in petite plus, are extremely similar.

To start I will be focusing on plus size outfits featuring the green pants.

Plus Size Green Pants & Mint Cardigan Outfits

These first three outfits feature the same pieces except the necklaces and earrings.

The “base” pieces are green pants, a mint cardigan, and an off-white sleeveless blouse.

Of course, a blouse with three-quarter sleeves is a great option too.

I added coordinating green loafers.  I love the combination! 

But, if that’s too “matchy-matchy” for you, you can opt for the leopard mules from the capsule. 

Or some tan or cognac loafers would work too.

For the bag, your favorite brown work tote will do.  But, I love the croc effect on this brown leather tote.

Jewelry

The bracelets for the majority of these outfits are the same.  A nice stack with a Tory Burch watch.

A classic link bracelet, tortoise bangle, and a pop of green with an enamel bracelet.

As I mentioned, the necklaces are swapped out to switch things up.  And I swap out earrings accordingly.

For this look, I decided to add some “supplemental” earrings.  These beautiful mint green statement earrings add an extra “pop.”

They’re not included in the main capsule.

A Snake-Print Top Variation

I wanted to show how to wear this plus size snake print blouse, which is featured more heavily in future posts, with the green pants and mint cardigan combo.

I swapped the brown bag for the black one, again, featured much more prominently in future looks I’ll be sharing from this capsule.

I also added some grey statement earrings and a crystal tennis bracelet to round out the outfit.  By the way, the earrings also come in a smaller size.

Plus Size Green Pants & Teal Sweater Outfits

More plus size business casual outfits with the same green pants.  This time paired with a teal cashmere sweater.

You might notice that most of the looks include the leopard mules.

But, again, the green loafers or even the aforementioned cognac loafers would also work.  Whatever you prefer and/or have in your closet.

And just like all of the mint green cardigan outfits above, I switched up the statements necklaces or scarves to change the look.
