I came up with too many outfit ideas for just one post so I turned this capsule into a series of posts! 

Also, I have a bunch of additional optional pieces to suggest that would also work with this capsule that will be coming in future posts.

Also, I want to mention that if you shopped last year’s plus size fall work capsule, many of those pieces will fit nicely with this one.

As I mentioned, I’m going through some health issues.  Overall I am better, but unfortunately, I’ve had some setbacks. 

And I am still trying to catch up with everything.  The struggle is real!

So even though I actually started working on this capsule well over a month ago, I am just now getting to post the series.

To be clear, I have worked on this collection for many many days!

Low Stock & Sold Out Items

Unfortunately, that means that some of the items now have lower stock available, select sizes unavailable, and one piece was completely sold out!

This also contributed to the delay because I had to search for more alternative options for you.  That took me a very long time!

But, the good news is that as I post additional parts of the series, I will be adding more choices.  So please be patient.

I apologize if you aren’t able to get some original items in your size.  But, I did my best to offer you the best similar alternatives that I could find.

Plus Size Fall Work Capsule Wardrobe 2021

Dress Code: Business Casual

This capsule is a collection of plus size business casual outfit ideas.  These looks should be appropriate for most offices with a  business casual dress code.

But, be sure to check your employee handbook or HR department for guidance. 

Some offices do not allow open-toed or backless shoes, so be mindful of those policies when it comes to the mules included in this capsule.

If your office is too conservative for this much color or has a business professional dress code, please let me know in the comments below and I will try to address your needs in future workwear posts.

Plus Size Plum Pants

Since we left off in Part 2 with talking about the plus size plum pants, which are also available in petite plus, I thought I’d start off this section with the same.

Plus Size Plum Pants & Eggplant Cardigan Outfits

First, take a look at outfits with “base” of the plus size plum pants, an off-white sleeveless blouse, and an eggplant purple cardigan.

Of course, a blouse with three-quarter sleeves is a great option too.

I added the leopard mules. 

For the bag, your favorite brown work tote will do.  But, I love the croc effect on this brown leather tote. 

Plus Size Plum Pants & Eggplant Cardigan Outfits – Necklaces

These first four outfits feature the same “base” pieces except the necklaces and earrings differ.

You might notice I swapped out the tortoise hoop earrings for the gold hoops.  Since both are pretty neutral they are practically interchangeable. 

But, I do prefer the gold hoops with some of the necklaces like this long pink beaded necklace and the gold statement necklace.

I also want to mention that the gold hoops are made by PAVOI, from Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!

I actually own a couple of their thick gold hoops in the two larger sizes.  I’m quite impressed.  You can check out some more of my picks in my Amazon store.

And of course, I prefer the tortoise hoops with the tortoise necklace, but again, the gold hoops would work too.

Plus Size Plum Pants & Eggplant Cardigan Outfits – Scarves

These three outfits also feature the same “base” except the scarves differ.

Plus Size Plum Pants & Floral Scarf Outfits

Again, I wanted to show more variations with the plus size plum pants. 

As you can see the floral scarf works with a variety of combinations from this capsule including the black silk sweater, teal cashmere sweater, and mint cardigan.

Color Schemes

Although I haven’t shown them yet, outfits that combine the plum pants with the teal cashmere sweater or mint cardigan work well with a variety of necklaces and scarves in this capsule, especially when combined with the cognac bag and the tan color of the leopard mules.

These colors: plum (red-violet), teal or mint (blue-green), and cognac/tan (yellow-orange) are triadic colors, meaning they are harmonious.

I have yet to explain those relationships in my color theory series, but this is motivating me to add that post to my list!

Supplemental Outfits with Plum Pants

As promised, I offer some “supplemental” pieces that were not included in the core capsule. 

These two plus size floral blouses, one short-sleeved and one long-sleeved, work well with several of the pieces from the capsule.

They look lovely with the plus size plum pants and eggplant cardigan.

Supplemental Outfits with Floral Blouses

As you can see these pretty tops look great without a top layer, making them ideal for transitional seasons or if you live in warmer climates.

I also want to show them with the black flared pants and black ankle booties, both of which you’ll see a lot more of in future posts of this series.

Again, the floral tops with the black flared pants, but now I’m showing that you can wear them with the leopard mules or the black ankle booties.

And lastly, I also want to show that you can swap the black bag for a brown one if you’re wearing the leopard mules. 

Just giving you more options. 

Plus, if you don’t have a black work tote, you can see that a brown one works too!
