I came up with too many outfit ideas for just one post so I turned this capsule into a series of posts! 

Also, I have a bunch of additional optional pieces to suggest that would also work with this capsule that will be coming in future posts.

Also, I want to mention that if you shopped last year’s plus size fall work capsule, many of those pieces will fit nicely with this one.

As I mentioned, I’m going through some health issues.  Overall I am better, but unfortunately, I’ve had some setbacks. 

And I am still trying to catch up with everything.  The struggle is real!

So even though I actually started working on this capsule well over a month ago, I am just now getting to post it.

To be clear, I have worked on this collection for many many days!

Low Stock & Sold Out Items

Unfortunately, that means that some of the items now have lower stock available, select sizes unavailable, and one piece was completely sold out!

This also contributed to the delay because I had to search for more alternative options for you.  That took me a very long time!

But, the good news is that as I post additional parts of the series, I will be adding more choices.  So please be patient.

I apologize if you aren’t able to get some original items in your size.  But, I did my best to offer you the best similar alternatives that I could find.

Plus Size Fall Work Capsule Wardrobe 2021 

Dress Code: Business Casual

This capsule is a collection of plus size business casual outfit ideas.  These looks should be appropriate for most offices with a  business casual dress code.

But, be sure to check your employee handbook or HR department for guidance. 

Some offices do not allow open-toed or backless shoes, so be mindful of those policies when it comes to the mules included in this capsule.

If your office is too conservative for this much color or has a business professional dress code, please let me know in the comments below and I will try to address your needs in future workwear posts.

Plus Size Black Flare Pants

Since I ended Part 3 talking about the plus size black flare pants, I will continue showing more outfit ideas from this capsule featuring them.

These plus size black flared pants are totally office-appropriate but just as comfortable as leggings! 

They’re ponte knit, a favorite fabric of mine.  A nice stretchy material that doesn’t lose its shape. 

Plus, it is thick enough to flatter any “flaws.”

Side note: my favorite ponte knit leggings are here.

These black flares are high-waisted with a “tummy panel” to help smooth you without a muffin top situation.

They’re available in sizes XS – 3X, including petite and tall. 

But make sure you know your inseam because it looks like they are made long enough to allow for heels.  So, the petite are 32” long, regular are 34” long, and tall are 37” long.

Of course, follow their complete washing instructions.  But I wanted to emphasize that you do not want to put these in the dryer or use an iron. 

Heat is the enemy of ponte knit!

Plus Size Black Flare Pants & Grey Cardigan Outfits

Once again, trying to show a variety of options with the same base outfit of plus size black flared pants, an off-white sleeveless blouse, and grey cardigan.

Of course, as I said in Part 1, a blouse with three-quarter sleeves is a great option too.

Plus Size Black Flare Pants & Grey Cardigan Outfits – Necklaces

A long neutral or monochromatic necklace works well with this combo. 

Unfortunately, by the time I was able to post this, the original necklace I chose was sold out.  But I found some great alternatives!

I also love these bold grey earrings with the look.  If you want something similar but smaller and more conservative try these.

A gold statement necklace is also a great neutral option.

As you can see, I included the black ankle booties with a kitten heel.  But, the leopard mules will also work.

I included the tortoise hoop earrings and tortoise bangle with the mules to add in some tan and cognac color.  But, that’s totally unnecessary.

Plus Size Black Flare Pants & Grey Cardigan Outfits – Scarves

Again, showing a variety of options with this combo.  This time I picked some scarves.

I love this Burberry silk scarf.  But, it’s hella expensive.  Fortunately, I found some less expensive alternatives.

A paisley bandana (or here) is also a great option.

And the Michael Kors color-blocked silk bandana works well too. 

Again, I switched to the leopard mules with the tortoise hoop earrings and tortoise bangle.  I like that they add in some tan and cognac color.  But, again, totally unnecessary.

As you can see, you can also swap the off-white blouse out for one of the animal-print blouses in the capsule.

Sadly, once again, the plus size snake print blouse is sold out in all sizes.  Sigh.  Please see alternatives linked below.

And as I’ve always said, leopard is a neutral.  So throw on this plus size leopard print blouse with practically anything!  

If you’re in warmer climates, make sure you check out the short-sleeved version.
