Plus Size Holiday Plaid Outfits – Part 1

Two plus size holiday plaid outfits!

I’m mad for plaid, always.  But, especially during the holiday season.

These outfits would be perfect for a holiday dinner or a holiday party!

Outfit Details

The star of these looks is the plus size plaid blazer!

Aside from the gorgeous tartan plaid, the wool blend fabric will keep you warm.

Coming in a close second are the pointy-toe mules in patent red with beautiful moire taffeta bows.  Stunning!

They have a 2.75″ heel.  If you need more stability, see these slingbacks.

For the first outfit idea, I featured a black silk cami.

 Designer Accessories

So you know I had to bougie-it-up with some designer accessories like this YSL clutch bag and a Gucci belt.

Ladies, we work hard for our money and if we want to flaunt it, we should!

Men have been flaunting their prosperity since they learned how to create fire in a cave.

And on average, a woman makes just 82 cents for every dollar a man earns

Not to mention women of color who earn just 65% – 70% of white men with the same education.

So we’re likely working hella harder for everything we have!

My point is if designer duds are your jam and you want to treat yourself, you do you!  Haters to the left.

I digress.

Gucci Belts

This outfit screams for a Gucci Marmont belt

Specifically, the newer version with the shiny GG buckle.

As I’ve said, I haven’t personally tried the Double G Gucci belts.  Sadly, they aren’t large enough for me.

However, they come as large as a size 20 (or 44″ waist)!

See the updated size chart below for choosing the correct size.

Both the thinner Double G Gucci belts and the wider Double G Gucci belts now come up to a size 120!

So these belts are accessible to those with larger waists [and much larger wallets]!

If they’re not in your budget, here and here are alternatives!

Jewelry

I added some red statement earrings similar to the iconic Kenneth Jay Lane drop earrings.

And I love the idea of stacking rings for a special occasion.

So I included this set of gold rings and this multi-row ring.

Pavoi Jewelry

Most of the featured bracelets are made by PAVOIfrom Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!

I actually own a bunch of PAVOI pieces now.  I started with a couple of their thick gold hoops in the two larger sizes.  I was quite impressed.

Subsequently, I bought CZ stud earrings in gold.

I also picked up two gold cubic zirconia tennis bracelets, the smaller 2mm style and the 4mm style

They come in multiple length options.

So far so good!  But, these are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.

Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.  This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.

FYI, you can check out some more of my picks in my Amazon store.

Look 2

For the second outfit idea, I swapped the black silk cami for an off-white swing tank.

  1. Love that you included the swing tank from Lane Bryant. I was pleasantly surprised last weekend when I put it on and it didn’t gape several inches under my arm, showing my bra.

    1. That’s good feedback. Thank you!
I have mixed feelings on LB so I don’t feature them too often. For me, the sizing seems to be hit or miss. The selections are so damn boring or just unattractive…
I do appreciate their workwear sometimes. Idk.
I feel like they were literally the only option for so so long that they got complacent. But, now they have some competition so they really need to step up their game, but they haven’t.
