Plus Size Hot Pink Shorts Outfit

A plus size hot pink shorts outfit for summer.  These perfect-length Bermuda shorts are a stretch twill so you’re sure to be comfortable.

Plus Size Hot Pink Shorts Outfit Details

Follow this easy outfit “formula” with a silk scarf over a white t-shirt.  Make sure the print of the scarf includes some hot pink to coordinate with the shorts.  Easy peasy!

Add some statement earrings in another coordinating color.  I actually have these in coral and love them!

Throw on some gold bangles.  I love these because they come in several sizes making them a great choice if you have hard-to-fit wrists.

Top with a straw fedora for a chic summery vibe.  And of course, a straw bag for the full effect.

As for the sandals, I opted for the Miller Cloud sandals.

Miller Sandals

If you watch my Instagram stories, you know that I recently purchased the Miller Cloud sandals (or here) and they fit my wide feet!

I typically wear a 7.5W, but I got the 7.5 and they fit me perfectly.

But also, you may have heard that Tory Burch is also offering the classic Miller in “extended width in select colors.

If you’ve got wide feet let me hear ya say “Hell yeah!”

Lipstick

Finish off your look with a hot pink lip, like “Pink Safari” from YSL

As I’ve said, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here) are my favorite lipsticks.

I readily admit they are bougie AF and totally break the budget.  But they are amazing!

They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips!  Not to mention they smell fantastic.

Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder, like this one, to display them.

And I just can’t say enough great things about them!

The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks

While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.

  1. Hi! I love everything you post and the fact you make it so easy for plus sized women to look fabulous! I do have a question though. I live in Canada and when I try to click on a link for Nordstrom through your blog, I get an ‘Access Denied’. I don’t have that problem with any other American sites as I use a VPN. When I go to the Nordstrom site alone, I don’t have that problem, but then I can’t find what you’ve posted. Any recommendations?
    Thanks!

    1. Hmm. That’s so weird. Maybe because they are affiliate links? Do you use an adblocker? Sometimes those will block links.

But, you should be able to find the items on the site.

When searching the Nordstrom site, try using the item #. It can be found in the “details & care” section of the item description.

Sorry I can’t be much more helpful.

  2. Love this. Your blog is one of my absolute favorites. Hot pink is one I add occasionally to black, white or gray.

I ordered the black tank dress from your previous blog and I love it!

Thank you for keeping us curvy girls fashionable!

  3. This outfit looks fantastic and it is really me! I would be very comfortable and feel really stylish and put together in this outfit! Good choices, at least for me. I am conservative, like to be stylish, and love dressing in color, no matter what my size is.

  4. I love the scarf, the tassels, the colors, the effortless cool!! I love the earrings! What l love most about this outfit is that it’s all about the accessories which make an outfit uniquely special. I can see this working with a lacey hot pink skirt too, or a pair of cat eye sunnies in a color from the scarf. Thank you so much! ?
P.S. I watched your videos on color theory and print mixing. My boho heart is gonna give stripes another shot! ?

  5. I love those hot pink shorts! ? Besides a scarf, how else could you style them? I’d love to see additional options’

  6. Yep scored the pink bermuda’s from Woman Within! The link for Pink Safari lipstick would not work for me. Thanks for the great outfit idea!

  7. Hey Alexa, you know those over sized striped shirts that button down the front, where can I find those? Yeah I know kinda old school, ? but I Love those because it’s cotton material, comfortable and when you live in Hawaii, that goes well, with jeans on a balmy night is Soooo comfortable!!! I just thought you’d know where I could find it. Thank you from So’o in Hawaii?????

  8. Yes the first one, you’re awesome, I wasn’t sure what it’s called but I Love those shirts, especially ones with the stiff collar, their so comfortable. Thank you so much?????

  9. I, too, have purchased the Miller Cloud sandals but in my normal size 10. I bought them thinking anything HAD to be better than the original Miller because those are far from comfortable. Wore them for a day and the top of my feet still hasn’t recovered! Good luck with your Clouds!

    1. Oh no! I haven’t had an issue yet. But I have only worn them a few times (because I literally haven’t left my house more than that ?) and so far they’re pretty good! That said, I literally walked from my house to car to friend’s house to car, etc. So maybe if I was walking more… I’m sorry to hear they didn’t work for you. ?

  10. I love your blog and have several pieces that you have featured here. I purchased the less option for the Bermudas. I have been successfully in ordering XXL through Walmart in the past. Just a heads up to others, the shorts are offered by Walmart by an affiliate. These run super small. The XXL looks more like a medium. I hope this helps. I’ll be sending mine back.

  11. Just splurged on this Johnny Was scarf and I am in LOVE! It is so silky and beautiful. Thanks for introducing us to a whole new world of designers that some of us, at least me, may not have otherwise discovered.
