A plus size outfit idea with navy linen pants.  Perfect for casual warm days!

I love this look for summer lunches, brunches, interviews by the pool (do you know these lyrics?), boardwalks, and everything in between.

And if you want to wear this look to work swap out the linen pants for trousers and the flip flops for ballet flats or a dressier sandal.

Linen Keeps You Cool

Linen is perfect for staying cool in the summer!

The navy pants in this look are 100% linen.  And the navy shrug is a linen-blend.

Linen is just a classy fabric.  Period.  It drapes in a lovely and unmistakable way.

And linen is a natural fiber known for keeping you cool in hot weather.  Yes!

That’s because linen breathes and absorbs moisture.

But Linen Wrinkles…

Linen might seem difficult to deal with, but it’s actually quite easy.  And it’s machine washable! 

As I’ve said, people often ask me how to keep their linen clothes from wrinkling.

For one, linen is always going to wrinkle.  Always. 

And really, that is part of “the look.”  You know, that rich bougie b!tch look that I love so much!

Two, a linen-blend will wrinkle less.     

And three, if you iron with starch, linen will wrinkle slightly less.  But, I say, just let it go!

Outfit Details

Take some cool and comfy linen pants and add a silky navy striped tank top.

Top the look with a navy shrug as needed for temperature or arm coverage (you know I have some arm image issues).

The shrug is very light weight and made with breathable fibers: 52% linen, 24% cotton, and 24% modal rayon knit.

Accessories

An oversized raffia tote looks great with this outfit!

You certainly want to go with a casual, slouchy or straw bag.

Add some basic leather flip flops in tan.  Like I said, keep it casual.

And top the look with some aviator sunglasses. 

As I’ve said, the “typical” size Ray-Ban aviators are 58mm, but I like the 62mm for an oversized look on my rounder face.

Jewelry

Add a really unique piece of jewelry: this nautical anchor bracelet.

Top the look with some medium chunky gold hoop earrings.  I’ll never be sick of mine (the inexpensive alternatives)!

I have these earrings in all four sizes.  The 40mm is considered “medium.”

FYI, I find Pavoi jewelry to be decent quality for the economical price tag.

Lastly, add a set of dome rings in gold.  So on-trend.

Jewelry Care

The aforementioned beauties are gold plated, so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.

Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, hot tubs, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.  This will keep the gold plating from damage and tarnishing.
