Plus Size Plaid Shacket Outfit

A plus size plaid shacket outfit for fall and winter.

Well actually, it’s one plus size “shacket” styled with faux leather leggings.

But, I also offer two alternatives: black and blue skinny jeans.

The Shacket

Let’s start with talking about the “shacket,” which is an oversized shirt-jacket.

It’s the latest trend and totally 90s, so I love it!

Because this shirt jacket is boxy, opt for something tight or sleek underneath.

I chose an ivory ribbed squareneck t-shirt.

I love that square necks are trending!

But, obviously, any neutral t-shirt or even a graphic tee would work.

Plus Size Faux Leather Leggings

These plus size faux leather leggings (here or here) are very well-reviewed with 4.5/5 stars.

It’s not surprising, considering they’re made by Spanx and offer the control that anyone can use when wearing a legging!

Some reviewers even reported that these leggings “hid” their cellulite.

Say what!?!

Sizing

They run a little small, but keep in mind, much like Spanx shapewear undergarments, they will be a pain in the a$$ to put on but that’s what you need to keep everything snatched!

They are a support level 2, which is mid-range for Spanx, which offers 3 levels of support.

So, you’ll want them to be tight.

Something to think about when you’re evaluating the fit.

Also, you should probably size up, especially if you are apple-shaped

If you experience any rolling down at the waist, getting the next size up should fix that.

See the size chart below for more info.

Spanx Plus Size ChartIf you need petite or tall, shop these Spanx leggings here.

Of course, if you don’t like the faux leather leggings, you can opt for my favorite Ponte leggings.

And as you’ve seen, I show two more alternatives below.

Lace-up Boots

I am in love with these Tory Burch booties!

They’re on-trend with lug soles and a block heel.

The 90s are here!  Woot!

They are a bit high though with a 3.25″ heel.

Even with a .75″ platform, they’re still pretty high.  For me, at least.

For less expensive and wide alternatives, please see my links below.

Designer Accessories

As always, I had to make the look a little bougie with some designer pieces like the iconic YSL Lou crossbody bag.

I’m finally ready to buy that bad boy!  I can’t wait!

Make sure you see my links to less expensive alternatives below.

I also added the statement-making black Celine square sunglasses

I have the “inspired” ones from Amazon and I love them!

By the way, check out my Amazon store for more of my picks!

Pavoi Jewelry

Most of the featured bracelets are made by PAVOIfrom Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!

I actually own a bunch of PAVOI pieces now.  I started with a couple of their thick gold hoops in the two larger sizes.  I was quite impressed.

Subsequently, I bought CZ stud earrings in gold.

I also picked up two gold cubic zirconia tennis bracelets, the smaller 2mm style and the 4mm style

They come in multiple length options.

So far so good!  But, these are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.

Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.  This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.

FYI, you can check out some more of my picks in my Amazon store.

Lipstick

And last but not least, I included a matte lipstick in a quintessential 90s hue: Nars’ Fire Down Below.

As a less expensive alternative, see my favorite liquid lipstick in “Crimson Crush.”

I talk about these liquid lippies a lot in my Instagram Stories

They’re long-wearing with many shades being transfer-proof.

So far, they’re the least drying liquid lipstick I’ve come across.

Perfume

As for the fragrance, I opted for a new discovery of mine: BYREDO’s “Mojave Ghost.”

Mojave Ghost Perfume - Alexa Webb

I’ve mentioned this scent before.  This spring I picked up the limited edition OUAI x BYREDO dry shampoo.

Sadly, it is no longer available.

It smells amazing and the dry shampoo, also available in the standard scent, is incredible!

As for the scent itself: it’s a woody musky scent.

I am terrible at describing the “notes” of scents, so I will send you here.

But, I typically like very feminine floral scents.

For example, I currently rock Dior’s J’Adore Lumiere or Versace’s Bright Crystal on the regular.

So I was surprised at how much I liked BYREDO’s Mojave Ghost.

It feels like a more modern scent.  A bit boho.

Like something you’d wear to Burning Man in case you end up wanting to flirt with a hot EMT in the medical tent after taking too much peyote.   You know what I mean?  Lol.

It is certainly worth a try if you’re in the market for a trendier scent.

  1. My personal favorite has always been jeans, but my body likes black leggings more lately hehehe. Limiting activities has led to weight gain and l actually wouldn’t mind some nice soft athletic pants with a wide leg.
Love your style Alexa, wishing you and yours Happy holidays!

    1. Oh, I am in black leggings 95% of the time. And no pants 4% of the time. This is now my lifestyle! LOL.

I want to post some more loungewear and athleisure since I think we’re all enjoying elastic waistbands at the moment! It’s on my list!

And thank you! Happy New Year!
