Summer Fashion – Day to Night

I created two looks for women and two for men: one for swimming and the other for transitioning from the pool or beach to dinner or a night out.

Look 1 – Plus Size Swimwear

In this first look, a black halter-style swimsuit with removable straps is paired with a plus size palm-print halter dress.

I love wearing dresses as a swim cover-ups, allowing me to head out in public without feeling awkward.

Now if you’re like me, you are all about those accessories. 

Yes, I am that woman at the pool with statement earrings, trendy shades, and a tote that all will covet.  

This straw tote looks much more expensive than it actually is!

Walmart is really killing it when it comes to beach bags and summery handbags this year.  

Their style is on point and the prices can’t be beat!

Look 2 – Plus Size Night Out

This second look allows you to easily transition from sunbathing to a nice dinner.

Simply switch your beach tote for a black straw black clutch.

You might remember this clutch from a recent post.

It is just so chic!

As for sandals, I opted for a block-heeled sandal for a bit of sophistication.

Add a stack of gold bracelets and a glossy lip and you’re ready for the boardwalk or crab house.

Look 3 – Men’s Swimwear

I think this is maybe only the second time I’ve featured men’s fashion on the blog.  So please let me know what you think in the comments below.

I wanted to create some men’s outfits that will look nice with the women’s outfits.

So I chose these tropical printed swim trunks.

I added a polo shirt to top the trunks when out in public.

I love this colorful coral and aqua striped polo, but a black or grey polo would also work.

Look 4 – Men’s Night Out

This last outfit idea is to show that with just a few changes, you can head out for the evening.

Swap the swim trunks for some flat-front chino shorts.

Grab some trendy low-top sneakers, aviator sunglasses, and a watch to complete the look.

Style tip: Wear sneakers without socks or just look like you are with some no show socks.
