Plus Size Wide Leg Jeans Outfits

This post of plus size wide leg jeans outfits is inspired by my mother.

She was so excited to see wide leg jeans back in style, but felt like she couldn’t wear them because she can’t wear heels anymore.

I explained, sneakers are great with wide leg jeans!

Especially iconic Adidas Sambas and Gazelles, which are trending.

So why not be on-trend and comfortable?

Take a look at what I came up with…

Both of these plus size wide leg jeans outfits are pretty much the same, but the first look features a red and white striped tee.

Life is Short, Wear Stripes

I often hear “Should plus size people wear stripes?”

If you’re unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It

She explains, “No, horizontal stripes won’t make you look fat. Only being fat makes you look fat.  And you know what, that’s okay.”

I think Melissa does a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes.

Elevate the red and white stripe t-shirt by topping it with a navy double-breasted blazer.

Any navy blazer will do, so dig around in your closet.

Wear the combination over some trendy medium wash wide leg jeans.

J.Crew Sizing

These wide leg jeans are from J.Crew.

In case you haven’t heard, J.Crew now has many items in plus sizes up to a size 24 or 3X.

Their sizing is comparable to Lane Bryant

One thing to note is that some of their pants and jeans come by waist sizing (vanity), so check the size chart below to see which size you are.

Accessories

For the shoes, I opted for some red striped adidas platform samba sneakers.  I love these!

You can also find similar non-platform ones here.

These sneakers are unisex and should fit wide width feet.  Woot!

Oversized aviator sunglasses keep the sporty yet classic vibe.

And a camel wristlet is an easy way to keep your phone and essentials with you.

Jewelry

With the influence of Bottega Veneta, sculptural gold jewelry is hot.

You can read my thoughts about Bottega Veneta here.

I love their waterdrop earrings, but not the price tag.

Fear not, I found some similar earrings for a lot less on Amazon.

By the way, I bought these earrings in the smaller and larger sizes.

The larger ones are stunning, but they are heavier so keep that in mind.

Then I stacked the wrist with some favorites: a gold Tory Burch watch and a Victoria Emerson chain bracelet (I have and love).

Perfume

I included one of my newer favorites: Chanel’s Gabrielle, which is such a “rich” floral fragrance.

If it’s over your budget, I highly recommend you try the Dossier version.

I tried this perfume brand, Dossier.

I ordered a bunch of their scents.  And so far, I love them!

I own their “Floral Ylang Ylang,” which is inspired by Chanel’s Gabrielle.

Oh la la!  An amazing luxury scent at a fraction of the price!
