Plus Size Work Capsule for Summer – Part 4

As Always, a Disclaimer

Let me preface this with what I regularly say when creating a capsule:  I am NOT a minimalist.   

If you’re looking for a minimalist capsule, I’m not your girl. 

I am an unapologetic clothes horse.  Every closet in my house, plus a spare bedroom, plus half of my dining room, is full of clothes!  (I need an intervention.)

So this is a collection of ‘mix and match’ outfit ideas for spring and summer workwear.

Plus Size Mint Pants & Scarves

We last left off on Part 3 with the beige short-sleeved silk sweater and mint pants with a variety of necklaces.  

So let’s pick off with the same base but with scarves starting with this lightweight coral and aqua scarf.

I love the tassel detail!

Although I don’t have this specific scarf, I do own other Nordstrom brand silk-blend scarves.

And let me just say the quality is amazing!  It’s an odd thing to say, but they drape in a way that just looks “expensive.”

I know, weird.  But it’s the way the silk moves.  Beautiful!

As you can see, I added the mint statement earrings.  And these looks work with a tan or mint tote.

And the navy scarf works too.

As you can see, the accessories, including the jewelry and bags, are mix and match.

Remember that coral and mint/aqua are complementary colors so you can’t go wrong with this combination!

So go with orange and coral jewelry or keep the jewelry minty fresh!

Jewelry Care

I love these Kendra Scott statement earrings.  I actually have the exact earrings in coral.

It’s important to care for them as they are costume jewelry and the gold plating can wear and change color.

As always, I recommend storing in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.

This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.

And avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Plus Size Coral Top & Navy Scarf

You can also combine the same mint pants and navy scarf with a coral top.

Complete the look with an optional neutral cardigan.

The tan pants also work well with these combinations!

Although we haven’t talked about them much, the tan pants are actually a workhorse for this capsule.

Because they’re neutral, they go with pretty much everything!

They also look great with the beige silk sweater.

If a sleeveless coral top doesn’t work for you, here is a v-neck short-sleeve top in the same color.

You can also swap the scarf for a statement necklace like the mint acrylic chain necklace from Part 1.

Although some might not the all-one-color vibe, I think these combos work as well.

But, I do think they look a little more polished with a third piece, like a neutral cardigan.

And, of course, these combos look great with the mint pants too!

Plus Size Beige Silk Sweater & Pink Colorblock Scarf

Don’t forget the pink colorblock scarf is another great asset for this capsule. 

Try it with neutrals like the beige silk sweater and tan pants for a pop of color.

Or wear the coral flats to make it a little funky.

Or wear with the coral pants.

The colorblock scarf also looks great with a coral top.

Plus Size Business Casual Outfits with Navy

Although we haven’t focused on it much so far, navy is a key color in this capsule.

Treat navy as a neutral and you’re good to go!
