Plus Size Wrap Skirt Outfit

Imagine you’re on a tropical getaway.  You are getting ready for a night out on an island town.  You put on this gorgeous floral wrap skirt and you suddenly feel a warm breeze, smell the ocean air, and hear the beat of La Isla Bonita.  You can’t help but sway your hips, Shakira-style, because this look is for feelin’ yourself and showing off!

Even if you find yourself landlocked in a humid concrete jungle like me, this skirt is sure to make you feel like an island goddess.  And you can easily style it with a tank or even a tee.  You can make it a little dressier by pairing with an off-the-shoulder top.

By the way, I own several of the pieces in this outfit, including this plus size jean jacket, which was gifted to me by Simply Be.  It is cropped, which I think is so flattering, with a little bit of stretch.  The distressing is just enough to be cool but not so much that it looks too trendy or inappropriate for anyone over age twenty.  I love it!  It is true to size and available in sizes 6 – 28.

I also have these earrings and they have been my “go to” recently when I am going out.  They look far more expensive than their price!  And if you read my Spring Haul post you’d know that I purchased a bamboo bag, which looks exactly like the Cult Gaia except it is missing the tiny beads between the bamboo pieces at the top.  Um, who cares?  The bag is adorable!

  1. This is such a cute outfit! The skirt is adorable and I love that jean jacket! Everything pictured is so cute. I love your blog and look forward to receiving each new post in my email. πŸ™‚

  2. Love this! I have a “western” wedding to go to and I am not a western wear kind of girl. So I used this outfit for inspiration and put something very similar together. It will be appropriate for the wedding but still more my style! Thank you!

      1. I now want to wear this for our family photos. Do you think I could wear a pear of boots or booties with it? Any suggestions?

          1. I don’t have any options yet, ha! The shoes I have to wear with it are essentially the same as in your outfit above. We are going to be outside in a wetlands type area. I couldn’t decide if long boots would be best or short, or if both would be fine, just depending on the look I wanted.
