Plus Size on a Budget – Black Date Night Outfit

Another date night outfit for my “plus size on a budget series!”  In case you missed it, be sure to check out my last plus size date night outfit here.  This look is very similar, featuring the same camisole in a black.  These camis have lace detail and an interesting racerback.  They are perfect for layering an “exposed” lace bralette underneath.  Yasss, Hunny!

My “Disclaimer”

I want to prevent some anticipated feedback.  So please keep these things in mind:

  • “Budget” is relative.  Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
  • You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less.  These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across.  And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed.  Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
  • Recycle & reuse.  As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.  Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks.  Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.

More Outfit Details

I chose to pair the cami top with a pair of black skinny jeans, but any black pants will work.  Or even dark denim would make a good choice.  I added some strappy sexy heels.  If they’re too tall, see some of the alternative suggestions below.  Any black sandals in your closet will do!

This metallic snake print clutch is a find!  Less than seven bucks and so chic!  Next, I added some glittery rhinestone large hoop earrings and a wrap leather bracelet.  You’re sexy but a little tough, amirite?

Lastly, smoke out those eyes!  I included a very pale lip like the infamous Kim K.W. from Charlotte Tilbury, but I know that doesn’t work with everyone’s skin tone.  Any nude lip will do!

One of my favorite “budget nudes” is L’Oreal’s “Fairest Nude,” but I have rather pale skin.  If you have any recommendations for deeper skin tones, please let me know in the comments section!

  1. Thank you for your ideas and inspiration for outfits for plus size women I appreciate your time and effort

    1. I believe it’s a welcome change for plus size ladies. As a plus lady you dont want to show fat however you dont want be that chick with 10000.00 t shirts either. It’s a doable outfit thanks!!!!

  2. Oh come on!! Completely ridiculous for a plus size woman over size 18 & over age 38 to wear that ridiculous selection. How about you actually put a size 22, 45 year old female in those clothes & post it? Lets wake up!! No, a plus size female can’t wear the same type of clothes a size 6 can no matter how much she wants to without looking stupid. To the world. Stop being in denial & writing insane articles lime this.

    1. Charlotte, take a deep calming breath. It’s just clothes. I think this is a cute look for anyone who wants to wear it. No one is forcing anyone to wear something they’re not comfortable in!

  3. Love everything but the shoes. My feet hurt just looking at them. ? Would have to wear a light jacket or blouse over that cami. I consistently cover my chicken wing arm fat. Another great look!
