Plus Size Suiting

I started with a plus size oxblood suit.

A suit is always appropriate whether your work dress code is business casual or professional.  

I particularly like this suit because the jacket has a tie front.

But, if you’d prefer a more conservative jacket, check out more options:

Plus Size Fall Work Capsule 2022 – Sleeveless Turtleneck

I combined this suit with several different tops. 

Let’s start with a nude plus size sleeveless turtleneck sweater. 

This is a great option to keep you cooler in warmer climates.

But, if I found similar with long sleeves if that’s your preference.

If you tend to look washed out in this color, be sure to check out the bodysuits at Skims which come in a variety of undertones.

You can wear this sleeveless turtleneck by itself in warmer weather or top with the chic jacket in cooler temps.

Switch things up with some scarves…

These scarves can be worn with or without the jacket. 

They can also be worn around the neck, head, ponytail, or even tied to your tote bag handles.

For shoes, I went with these slingback flats in “Wine.”  

Pro tip: a pointed toe elongates the leg.  And wearing the same color shoe as your trousers furthers the effect.

Point being, if you want to avoid a slingback and don’t think you’d wear the skirt, loafers are a great alternative.

And top with the same oxblood jacket.

For the bag, I opted for this Tory Burch contrast embossed leather tote bag. 

Each side features an inverse color pattern, creating two looks in one.  Perfect for a capsule wardrobe!

For sunnies, I chose these Celine butterfly shades in Havana.  So chic!

Jewelry

Gold jewelry is a classic choice. 

Add a Victoria Emerson bracelet, which I have and love, a Tory Burch watch, and a Baublebar jewel bracelet.

The jewelry also includes my favorite gold hoops that come in four sizes. 

The 30mm are a great size for a professional environment.

The hoop earrings featured are made by PAVOI, which I’ve mentioned many times before.

You can find PAVOI on Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!

I actually own a bunch of PAVOI pieces now.  I started with a couple of these thick gold hoops in the two larger sizes. 

I’m quite impressed.

Jewelry Care

These are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.

Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.  This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.

Add a coordinating lip in “Revenge Red.”

Swap the nude turtleneck for an oxblood short sleeve sweater.

Or create the same look with an oxblood faux leather skirt.  Go here for tips on monochromatic outfits.

And add different scarves to switch things up.

And add the coordinating jacket for more professional occasions or cooler weather.
