I think Melissa does a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes.

Pair it with a midi denim skirt.
Top with a trendy cropped trench coat as needed.

The larger ones are stunning, but they are heavier so keep that in mind.
Then I stacked the wrist with some favorites: a gold Tory Burch watch and a Victoria Emerson chain bracelet (I have and love).
