Four plus size holiday sequin outfits.  

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know that I publish multiple outfit suggestions for Thanksgiving Day each year. 

Then I expanded it to holiday outfit ideas.

And I always include several options for those of you in warm(er) climates, called the “Southern Editions.”

Eventually, I created variations of the same look: Warmest, Warmer, Warm, and the Southern Edition. 

So these are the same outfit ideas with minor details changed to accommodate whatever the weather and temperature might be in your region!

Life is Short, Wear Stripes

Let me start with some thoughts on stripes because these holiday looks feature striped tops and sweaters.

I often hear “Should plus size people wear stripes?”

If you’re unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It. 

She explains, “No, horizontal stripes won’t make you look fat. Only being fat makes you look fat.  And you know what, that’s okay.”

I think Melissa does a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes. 

Outfit Details

Like I said, these looks have a striped top or sweater. 

The first look is the “Southern Edition,” so I went with a striped tank top.

Top it with a denim jacket as needed.

All of these looks feature a plus size sequin skirt, but any black bottoms will work.

Of course, I added some designer sunglasses and a designer bag.

Jewelry

With the influence of Bottega Veneta, sculptural gold jewelry is hot.

I love their waterdrop earrings, but not the price tag.

Fear not, I found some similar earrings for a lot less on Amazon.

Perfume

Now make sure you smell as fancy as you look!

I included Chanel’s Gabrielle, which is such a “rich” floral fragrance.

If it’s over your budget, I highly recommend you try the Dossier version.

I tried this perfume brand, Dossier.

I ordered a bunch of their scents.  And so far, I love them! 

I own their “Floral Ylang Ylang,” which is inspired by Chanel’s Gabrielle.

Oh la la!  An amazing luxury scent at a fraction of the price!

Wide Calf Boots

These boots have a 2.75″ heel making them a reasonable choice for work.

They’re wide calf, but you may need to do a little math to see if they will fit your calves.

They have a 16″ calf circumference.  

If you need a larger circumference, try these in wide or extra wide or these, which offer custom calf sizes up to 20″.
