Plus Size Spring Business Casual Outfit

Plus Size Navy and Red Trench Coat - alexawebb.com #plussize #alexawebbWhen I saw this trench coat, I fell in love!  In fact, both colors are amazing!  And although it can be worn everyday this spring, I decided to come up with a plus size spring business casual outfit to wear with it.  But, throw it on over jeans and a tee for a sophisticated take on your basics.

As I said, the trench comes in two colors: navy and khaki.  I want both!  And it comes in sizes XXS – 4X.  Yes, thank you, ModCloth!  It also has a high, empire waist, which is very flattering for a lot of plus size shapes, including apples.

The outfit looks great without the trench as well.  It’s a simple lightweight navy and white striped knit tee, which is more like a very light weight sweater than a t-shirt.  This makes it look more refined than a simple tee and perfect for business casual dress codes.  It is available in sizes 10 – 30.

I put the top with a white ankle pant and finished the look with a bright red pop of color!  Adding these Michael Kors red ballet flats takes the outfit from nice to amazing.  Pair with your favorite tan or cognac work tote.  Top with some cat eye sunnies and simple gold accessories.

  1. Alexa, I’m so sad that I have discovered your blog. I can’t seem to kept any money in my account. I absolutely love so many of your outfit ideas!!!!

  2. I brought the trench coat in khaki but I noticed it was European made which sometimes mean you have to go 2 sizes up has this been your experience with the coat

    1. No, I only have that issue when the item isn’t sized for the US market. Often things are manufactured overseas but sized for multiple markets. But, I always recommend checking the size chart. Size Chart

  3. Love the way you put outfits together with all the price points. Can you do more coastal outfits? We live on an island off South Carolina and it’s so hot here. Thank you!

  4. Hi Alexa!

I love your site! I can’t tell you how much it’s helped me and I’m very grateful! I was wondering if it would be possible to have your fans post pictures of themselves in the outfits they’ve purchased off your ideas? I’d really like to see what others look like in them, would anyone else? Just an idea. ? Keep up the amazing work!

  5. I know this is a little off topic for this post, but, I’m really self conscious of my legs and I wear tights in the fall/winter, but now spring is upon us and then eventually summer, I’m not sure as to what to wear with shorter dresses (I wear maxis all the time, so they can be a bit boring and too hot for me)? Are nylons appropriate for spring/summer? Help! Please!
