How adorable is this plus size wrap top? It is perfect for spring and summer with its bright yellow floral print. And wrap tops, especially “true” wraps like this one, are very flattering. I recommend them for many body shapes, including plus size apples. But, before I get into the two looks I created, I want to remind you of the difference between “true” and “faux” wraps.
As I mentioned in a previous post about wrap dresses, a “true” wrap style is one in which the tie, neckline, and fit can be adjusted when the garment is tied closed. As opposed to a “faux” wrap which looks similar in style, but cannot be adjusted because the pieces are sewn together in such a way as to create the illusion of a wrap but without the ability to adjust.
Often you will see inexpensive or budget options in the “faux” wrap style. One of the reasons is that that “faux” wrap dresses and tops cost less to make as they use less fabric and they take less time to sew. But, if you can afford a “true” wrap dress or top, they are totally worth it.

More yellow plus size wrap tops, some are “faux” wraps.
This first look is for casual everyday wear. To dress down the wrap top, I added some slightly distressed cuffed jeans and a casual low wedge sandal. White jeans, like my favorites, would also look great!

Wear this second outfit to the office with a grey pencil skirt or pants. Top with a coordinating jacket for a more professional look. Add your favorite work tote and a low pump, like these in grey suede. Then add my current favorite nude lip gloss.
