My “Disclaimer”

I want to prevent some anticipated feedback.  So please keep these things in mind:

  • “Budget” is relative.  Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
  • You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less.  These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across.  And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed.  Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
  • Recycle & reuse.  As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.  Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks.  Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.

Outfit Details

This plus size business casual outfit starts with the same navy trousers* you saw in Part 1 and Part 2.

By the way, these trousers come in three lengths- average, tall, and petite.

But this time, I topped the navy pants* with a lightweight sweater in a navy stripe.

Based on the reviews and material

Then I tied it all together with a red silk neckerchief scarf.

This small square scarf can be worn around the neck, the wrist, a ponytail, or even the tote bag handle.

Accessories

This outfit also features the same accessories and mules from my “casual Friday” look and the business casual outfits in Part 1 and Part 2.

Oversized sunglasses, which are similar to my favorites are a preppy gal’s favorite in a classic tortoise.

beautiful tote with simple hardware and flat mules are both in a rich cognac brown to round out the look.

And for jewelry, gold classics: oval thick hoop earrings and a thick link bracelet.

Pavoi Jewelry

The hoop earrings featured in this look are made by PAVOI, which I’ve mentioned many times before.

You can find PAVOI on Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!

I actually own a bunch of PAVOI pieces now.  I started with a couple of these thick gold hoops in the two larger sizes.  I was quite impressed.

Subsequently, I bought the same CZ stud earrings featured in this post in gold.  I also picked up two gold cubic zirconia tennis bracelets, the smaller 2mm style and the 4mm style.

Actually, I have so many pieces now, I have lost track!  But, so far so good!

Jewelry Care

These are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.

Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.  This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.

FYI, you can check out some more of my picks in my Amazon store.

Perfume & Lipstick

I have had this perfume brand, Dossier, on my “to try” list for quite some time.

I actually just ordered a bunch of their scents.  I’ll report back soon!

For this look, I chose is their “Gourmand Orange Blossom,” which is inspired by Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle Eau De Parfum.

Oh la la!  An amazing luxury scent at a fraction of the price!

For lips, I opted for a cool tone red with “Maison Marais.”  This shade will work best on most cool or neutral skin tones.

Another option for cool tones with a blue base is a deeper red “Rouge St. Germain.”

If you have a warm undertone, go with “Volcanic.”

  1. I adore every one of these. Except the yellow sweater. I’m sure it looks great on someone but yellow, sadly, makes me look 🤒 ill. I ordered the purple too and blazer. So fun. Thanks so much for the inspiration! I forward many of your posts to younger friends. They LOVE your style – and mi e, thanks to you!
