Two plus size plaid coat outfits for those who love mixing prints as much as I do!
Plus Size Plaid Coat Outfits
Life is Short, Wear Stripes
Both of these plus size looks feature a rugby striped sweater in navy and blue.
But, if you’re unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It.
She explains, “No, horizontal stripes won’t make you look fat. Only being fat makes you look fat. And you know what, that’s okay.”
I think Melissa does a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes.

Wear this combo with your favorite denim. I chose some dark wash skinny jeans.
As for the shoes, I went with some on-trend lug soled loafers in patent navy. And they come in wide width!
A classic Louis Vuitton crossbody pouchette metis bag adds a little extra in the reverse monogram.
Like I said, I like to mix prints!

Outfit 2 Details
This second outfit is much like the first, same navy blue plus size rugby stripe sweater and super cute plaid coat.
But this time I went a bit sportier with some sneakers.
Wear these kicks sock-less or with no-show socks.
Show a little ankle with these demi-boot jeans.
They’re cropped with a 26″ inseam and look like kick-flares with a 9″ leg-opening.
In case you haven’t heard, J.Crew now has many items in plus sizes up to a size 24 or 3X.
Their sizing is comparable to Lane Bryant.
One thing to note is that some of their pants and jeans come by waist sizing (vanity), so check the size chart below to see which size you are.
