I’m in LOVE with this plus size preppy fall outfit.
I have always been a fan of vests. If you’re a regular reader, you might remember my Ireland story, in which my puffy vest practically saved my life.
All jokes aside, a vest is a great transition piece to have for fall and spring.
You can see more plus size vest outfit ideas here.
But, what I love most about this plus size preppy outfit are the extra wide calf rain boots!
Extra Wide Calf Rain Boots
Glossy navy blue polka dot wellies in “extra wide calf?” Shut the front door!
If you haven’t heard of Jileon, prepare to be blown away by their adorable wide calf and extra wide calf rain boots.
These particular wide calf rain boots will fit up to a 23″ calf. Can I get an “Amen?”
I featured some Hunter rain boots over the last year in wide calf and adjustable versions.
Unfortunately, I didn’t see any fun colors or prints in larger calf sizes yet. But, I will keep you posted.
You can see those posts here, here, and here.
Oh and if you are looking for more wide calf boots, check out this post and my shopping guide’s boot section.
Gucci Belts
As I’ve said, I haven’t personally tried the Double G Gucci belts, but they are still the “it” accessory.
Sadly, they aren’t large enough for me. However, they come as large as a size 20 (or 44″ waist)!
See the updated size chart below for choosing the correct size.
Both the thinner Double G Gucci belts and the wider Double G Gucci belts now come up to a size 120!
The latter is probably a better choice for jeans depending on your personal preference.
So these belts are accessible to those with larger waists [and much larger wallets]! If they’re not in your budget, here and here are alternatives!

Thanks, Kristen! 🙂
I am unable to open the link for the vest -can you tell me where you found that?
thank you.
Hi Susanne,
The vest is from JCrew. There is also a very similar one at JCrew Factory.
Navy and pink are one of my favorite color combinations. Any possibilities of a navy and pink or grey and pink work capsule?? Great outfit idea….
That’s a great idea. I love navy and pink too!
So bummed the pink and white rugby tee is already sold out in plus sizes. Any cute alternatives? Love it!
Oh no! Sorry about that, Leigh! I think the sale helped them to sell out quickly. You can find a similar berry color here. And you can find a cute pink striped tee here.
I just found your site thanks to searching Pinterest. I hate that there are all these cute outfits built on places like polyvore, but you can’t actually buy them. Thank you for building the outfits and sharing links to each item. This is a game changer!
Great! Welcome! 🙂
First, love your site. You have so many incredibly cute outfit ideas and I come here often for inspiration. This is my FAVORITE outfit you’ve ever posted. THANK YOU! Hi Heather,
Thank you and that’s great to hear! I might be sharing more of my home decor stuff when I get a little further in the process.
Hey, I really appreciate your blog and like these outfits. Is there a way to keep the information on what item you are showing? The vest and rugby have sold out at the original place you linked to, but on some of your older posts I coukd still go see what brand and color the displayed items were. It is helpful because sometimes I have found items you suggest on ebay or via other websites even tho your original link doesn’t work have the item any longer. I would really appreciate knowing so my searches would be easier.
Hi Linda,
Let me think about that. I usually leave the links up for 1 year (or longer if still stocked). And I cannot leave the sold-out links because they’re considered “broken” even if they land at a retailer on a ‘sold out’ page. And, unfortunately, that negatively impacts my SEO, which is very important for Google ranking.
Thank you for your feedback.
