Plus Size Winter Work Outfit

It has been a while since I have created a look for work.  And you guys have been requesting some!

So, today I give you a plus size winter work outfit.

And this is a classic!  Some very comfortable black pull-on straight leg ponte knit pants will look great but also have you feeling like you’re working in your pajamas.

Top with a layered sweater in camel and blue stripe.  Such an easy piece!

Add some classic black loafers and a gold watch and bracelet.

Then create some interest with pops of red.  Try some red stud earrings, a red tote, and a red beret.  Yes!

And lastly, throw on a timeless wool wrap coat.

‘Tis the Season

I wanted to make sure to let you know that you can always easily find those topics, by clicking “Holiday” on the menu.

  1. I love the look of the layered sweater. Do you think the layered sweater would work on a shorter (5’2” ) plus sized woman?

    1. So it’s 30″ long. That will be more like tunic length on you. I would opt for a skinny pant or ponte legging instead. I think that will look more balanced. Also, if you have them, a block-heeled ankle bootie w the skinnier leg will elongate your legs. Basically one long black line. I hope that makes sense!

  2. LOVE this outfit, even for nonwork! It’s very classy and well put together. They have the sweater in red too! That beret is soooo cute!

  3. Thanks Alexa! I always get compliments when I wear your outfits!!! I just ordered the layered sweater in Camel.

    1. Ok – the sweater came – and I am going to have reorder in a bigger size. Everything about it feels super soft – BUT the seam where the shirt attaches to the sweater along the bottom has zero stretch. I am wide in the chest and tummy, so it feels more than snug and forces the sweater to ride up when I sit down. Sleeve length is perfect, so I’m disappointed to size up, but still really like the look. I suspect it’s the typical “design for a regular size’d woman should also work for a plus size woman, right?”

      1. That is disappointing! I hope you have success with the larger size. I would love to hear how it turns out. And yes, I think the pieces that come in straight sizes too (this is one of those) have that sizing issue. And they are often too short too. Sigh. I hope you were able to make it work!
