Plus Size Work-From-Home Outfit

A plus size “work from home” outfit that can easily go from relaxing [or working] in the house to quickly running out the door with just a few tweaks.

My previous “Plus Size Joggers Outfits” post was such a hit that I was inspired to create another look that is perfect for working at your laptop, wrangling kids for the bus, or cozying up on the couch for a day of binge-watching.  And that is exactly what this first outfit is all about.

This first plus size work from home outfit features these gorgeous leggings!  If you regularly read this blog, you saw these leggings in rose gold featured in a post from back in February.

Aren’t they breathtaking (for leggings)?  Obviously, you can also wear them to the gym or yoga studio.

I added a navy tunic t-shirt, which I own in gray.  It is much longer than a standard t-shirt with a rounded hem.  I love the length of the sleeves, which come down to the elbow.  It doesn’t pill and washes well.  However, it clings on me around the hips.  I probably could get a larger size to avoid that issue.  But since I was trying it for my “great t-shirt hunt” and only planned to wear it around the house as pajamas, my laziness won out.  But, something to consider.

The fabric isn’t like that of my favorite tees.  They can be pulled and “stretched out” and retain that shape so they won’t cling to your tummy or hips.  One of the many reasons I love the 100% cotton tees from Yours Clothing.

So this second outfit is essentially the same as the first with a few changes to get you ready to take on the world!

Although I think you can totally run errands in the cashmere wrap from above, swap it out for more of an on-the-go piece, like a denim jacket.

Then take off those luxurious UGG slippers in exchange for comfortable sneakers

Add oversized mirrored aviators to add some “badass vibes” to your look.  (I have these sunnies and do feel like a badass in them!)

  1. The wrap you show is tan but the website doesn’t offer this. Can you suggest another tan wrap or cardigan that has a similar waterfall drape in the front?

  2. Hi Alexa,

It would be great to see these type of posts…I am a 61yr old Mom at home…This is what I need to see…Gained weight over the last couple of years.

    Thank you for your inspirations.

  3. Hello Alexa,

I’m a new follower (just today) and I LOVE this post. I am in my late 50s and I am struggling to find quality, stylish, comfortable plus size clothing. So much of what I see is quite frumpy and that’s just not me.

I have been a mostly work-at-home person for the last six months, and though I’m about to start a job where I have to go back into an office, I still appreciate how you put together a WAH outfit that can transition to a running errands outfit. PLEASE do more of these.

I was able to find a black/gold legging in a plus size on another site because Nordy’s was sold out.

THANK YOU so much. Keep up the great work!

    ~Tessa
