Today I give you a plus size bright plaid outfit.
I know you’re thinking: here she goes again with more plaid! Insert eye roll.
If you’re a subscriber of this blog, you already know that I’m obsessed with stripes, sequins, and jeans.
But, I think we can now officially add plaid to the list!
I mean, see this post, that one, and this one here. See what I’m saying? But, ’tis the season, mmmkay?
The Holiday Season

The Vibe
This look is a “mix” of sorts that I’m in love with!
A bit preppy, a little edgy with some “après ski” vibes à la Gstaad.
I want to clarify that you can totally pull this off in the Swiss Alps or at a local Christmas tree lighting. Wherever you’re spending the holiday season, this look should be with you!
The Bottoms
Let’s start with these plus size coated jeans, which look similar to faux leather jeans or leggings.
I used to say that coated jeans are a great alternative to faux leather leggings because they have more structure and less sheen, that is, until I discovered the Spanx faux leather leggings.

You could also do a ponte legging on black skinny jean. See the last image in this post.
The Top
This look mixes some analogous colors. A vibrant wool coat in an orange-y red hue is the star of the show with a faux fur trimmed hood.
But, a red puffer would work too.
It tops a magenta purple cashmere sweater and a plaid scarf.
Such a bright and gorgeous combination!
The Finishing Touches
These waterproof wedge booties with a snow-ready sole are a great mix of trendy, edgy, and snow-bunny vibes.
Add a faux fur pompom beanie in all black, flat aviators, and a designer quilted crossbody bag for maximum impact.

Hi Alexa! I just found your blog and really love your flat lays and all your information. Lots of hard work. I really liked the AE plaid scarf and noticed there were no dimensions listed on their site. I clicked on their customer service to ask and I was *surprised* (and annoyed) they came back to say that information wasn’t available. IMO that type of info is important for online purchasing. Their items are cute, but perhaps things are “sketchy” with the company if they don’t provide normal info about their products. Just a thought. I really DO like your blog. Thank you for all your efforts and hard work to make it really fun.
