Three looks. One Blazer. These plus size plaid blazer outfit ideas will take you from weekend casual to night out chic.
All of these outfits feature this plaid blazer. It’s a classic piece that happens to be trending. The best of both worlds!
It has an asymmetrical double-breasted cut, my favorite kind. This asymmetry allows you to wear the jacket open without a ton of bulk like the typical double-breasted style.
It is made even more flattering with the placement of the buttons which creates flattering lines in the front.
Bottom line, this is a flattering blazer!
And it’s made of cotton with a little spandex for some stretch. So it’s a great weight to wear year-round.
Look 1 – Mom Jeans
For the first two looks, I paired the blazer with distressed mom jeans. As I’ve said many times before, I love the juxtaposition of classic pieces with trendy and edgy.
And as I’ve also said, mom jeans are back! Remember those? Just watch some of the early seasons of Friends to see the classic 90s straight leg, light wash, ankle-length denim trend.
Personally, I like them distressed for a more “updated” look because I actually wore them the first time they were popular. And I wouldn’t want anyone to think I have been rocking them ever since! So somehow, in my mind, the distressing helps with that.
Despite their popularity, not surprisingly, they are hard to find in plus sizes.

Then to keep things totally casual, I threw in a vintage tee and snake print platform slip-on sneakers. I love it!
And as usual, I added a designer bag. A grey small Givenchy Antigona gives it a vibe along with the designer sunnies. These sunglasses, which I have and love, are an amazing alternative if the “real” ones are out of your budget.

This second plus size blazer outfit is the same as the first with just a different t-shirt. This time pulling from the blazer’s plaid, I chose a coral-y pink tee.

Look 3 – Black Jeans
This last outfit idea can work for day or night. This time I opted for black skinny jeans and a sleeveless blush blouse. Take things up a notch with suede d’Orsay pumps.
This look can easily be transformed to “work appropriate” with a pair of black trousers instead of jeans.
As for jewelry, opt for some pave pieces, like this bracelet. And trendy with huggie hoop earrings with dangling crystals.
